How to protect your scope?

The day after my scope got pwned i saw AMOS thread about lense protectors... it was like the biggest bitch slap ever.

Fishermen story? Ok, their was a couple people around me when it happened. Ben, Gab, Steph and i think Omi was there also. It was at Napalm Warfare a couple months ago. We just took a position where 2 people used colored (orange) smoke to cover their position. Right after we took the position i heard a good 'ting' and saw my scope lense was broken. It was just one shot, so it was believe it was a sniper.

The way I see it, 12 dollars protects your investment and everything else you buy that's the same size.

Amos from what i can tell the only way to attach the protector to the front of a ACOG would be to slope it at an angle, but I'm not sure

if it works then ill grab one from ya once i get my new gun

If ya' feel like sending me an Acog with money to ship it back I can make sure everything is 100% perfect on it

Like Stalker said, the front element (lense) of the scope is strong enough to resist most, if not all BB hits.

If you are that fearfull of it getting it, use a sube extender. It's a long shader tube that screw at the front of your scope. It will diminish the angle needed for a bb to hit your front element. The drawback is that you will loose a little light in your scope image, but that's not going to be a problem for day games.

Had a look at the flash killer for the acog: I noticed the flash killer looks like it comes in two pieces: a honey comb attachment plus a large o-ring.

Questions:
1) The honey comb attachment fits on the front of the scope?
2) what's the large o-ring for?
3) finally: what's the size of the front lens? I am thinking of getting an aftermarket lens protector. Thanks!

One more question to add to this.

I'm expecting a PROUD version of the Aimpoint RDS. Does anyone have any experience with them? And would a real Kill Flash install okay? Or would I have to shave it at the bottom like most solutions to the real vs. replica dilemma?

i know all the replicas arent to accurate specs of real steel aimpoints...but i have a guarder copy that i got off of redwolf and the real killflash fits in it. i dont know about the PROUD version though. the area to sand on the kill flash is pretty small and threaded so i dont know how you would make it stay in the aimpoint..

I signed up for this forum just so I can inquire about purchasing a scope protector...but I cannot view that post. It says I do not have priviledges sufficient to do so. Do you have an email addres, a website, or any other means for me to buy it? I don't want to jump through a bunch of hoops to get 'sufficient priviledges' to view the one only post I am interested in (thus far) on this forum.
