How to protect your scope?

I know you can get some sort of clear plastic lens cover to protect a scope from breaking when it's shot - where can these be had for say the Eotech 553, or the Acog?

Thanks!

get a kill flash for an ACOG

what about the x3 magnifier for the Eotech? I'm waiting for a clone to come out with a flip mount. However, once the magnifier is flipped out of the way, the lens of the magnifier is now exposed. Is there a kill flash, or has someone made a cover for the Eotech x3 magnifier?

Thanks!

Hey y'know what's cheaper than a killflash and will work much better to protect it?

My protectors.

how well do yours work with an Acog amos?

To protect scopes I like to use the half inch to one inch of hardened glass that comes with them, you know, the lens of the scope itself. Seriously, fire a 500fps airsoft gun at the front of a scope, if the lens breaks I'll buy you a new scope! Aimpoints, ACOG's, ELCAN's, normal scopes, etc. all have super thick hardened glass. Only thing to worry about are holosights.

My rs scope broke in one shot... very expensive scope also.

What the hell hit it, a steel BB? I have taken 450fps guns to all my scopes and the same thing happens each time. The BB turns to dust on impact and no mark is left on the lens.

Not sure what fps or who shot it, it was a single shot so i'm thinking a sniper. Hit right where the front lense is 'connected' to the metal body of the scope. Only thing that broke is the lense, a nice deep crack made the $1200 scope paperweight. Sent it in for repairs, paid the $$$ and sold it to a hunter friend of mine.

Hmmm....never tested shooting my scopes there. Have a spare G&P Aimpoint that I'll never use, might give it a go sometime. But anyway, that is the first incident of a broken scope I have heard of in as long as I've been playing airsoft (holosights excluded of course.)

It can stop a 800 FPS .22 pellet gun...

As long as there's a surface to attach it to, It'll work just fine.

Some one give me a picture of a front lense portion of an Acog and I'll see how easy it would be for me to make.

Or... For the low low price of 12 dollars shipped (for a 35mm {and below} scope) I can make you a protector that I'll 100% that as long as it stays on your scope / red dot / ect It will protect it... and your investment in your optics.

My front lenses of my scopes protect the rest of it, had numerous BBs hit the objective lenses of my magnified and RDS scopes in my four years of playing, even at closer ranges, and only had to dump the BB fragments out of the tube. Never a mark, never a break, and I only use real steel scopes. Can't understand real steel scopes, tempered and such, breaking because of a little lightweight plastic ball bouncing off it. Cheap airsoft clone scopes, sure, can believe it, at least for cheap RDS types, but magnified........... my 500fps M24 will leave a <0.010mm dent in the lense of a polycarb pair of shooting glasses at 6" with a 0.36g, so can't see a glass lense from a decent scope break at X distance away during normal gameplay. Sounds like 'fisherman stories' to me.
