Most reviews I've seen on any gun are just descriptions on what comes with the gun and not actually any sort of informative reviews at all...

Don't just read the reviews, pick the reviews.
As ThunderCactus said, many reviews are just descriptions on what comes with the gun. There are also many reviews by airsoft shops, which tend to tell you mostly good things. There is another type of review, by a noob, or some 12 years old, or both, talking about a gun (probably their first gun) despite they don't even have the experience nor knowledge to judge a gun.
