Sorry I didnt get around to this thread earlier, I keep coming on ASC at 2am and breaking the website lol

Although you already bought the PDI, I'm not saying it's a bad purchase, but the extra money you spent on the barrel was completely unnecessary lol
Amos and I had the same VSR platform for a while, one of the big differences being his 650mm+ 6.01 barrel vs my 450mm 6.03 prometheus barrel
And I see this a lot in AEG's as well

Makes. No. Difference.

a 6.01 650mm barrel will just JUST AS WELL as a 6.05 383mm barrel.
There are 3 things that matter on the gun;
1) Consistency of the bore. Doesn't matter if it's a 6.08 or a 6.01, as long as it's perfectly consistent, they have the same accuracy.
2) Compression. Having a constant amount of pressure behind the BB is just as important as the consistency of the bore. Inconsistent pressure means inconsistent groupings.
3) Hopup. This makes or breaks the gun. A 310fps AEG with good #1 & #2 will outrange a 470fps gun with poor #1 & #2. It can also double the range and accuracy on stock marui guns! lol

So now you've got the barrel, it's not bad, just over the top. But you absolutely need a good hopup rubber

Hooray! I'll be ordering one, price is worth it if it works. I don't trust that screw-mod-fix idea for the stock catch; the threads would be taking a lot of strain. If the stock sear material is that soft, the threads will stretch & warp with use, making the screw wiggle and possibly detach; that'll chew up a lot of other, less replaceable internals. And I just can't bring myself to use JBWeld or other glues to rebuild a structural component; 's like patchin' your boat with silly putty.

I see they also make a reinforced piston that takes standard AEG piston heads. (Reinforced piston for manual SVD[AirsoftPro])

I've ordered the PAS CO2 bolt kit, too; we'll see what can be done to control the output pressure to meet field regs. I share your concerns about having to partially disassemble the bolt to change cartridges; I intend to look at modding it to run to an external cartridge mounted to the stock that could be changed on the fly.

A thought occurs, though; this gas kit has the CO2 cartridge laying on its side, which I've never seen before. Would/could this mean that liquid CO2 will seep out when it's fired? I'd think that'd be murder on the seals & internals.

Quick question, is there anyway to make this gun quieter? I just got mine and it's completely stock but it's quit abit louder than my stock TSD L96
