A&K SVD - upgrade ideas?

Hello;

I have a stock A&K SVD that i want to upgrade with high performance internals. I have already been looking around for an EDGI 6.01mm inner barrel and could use some help finding other high end upgrades.

If anyone would like to point out what i should buy (perhaps a link would be appreciated)... i would greatly appreciate it.... or if anyone feels that there would be a better inner barrel please let me know.

I greatly appreciate all help/ advice to make my SVD... EPIC

Lost my love for madbull when they sent me a very faulty barrel and refused to replace it.

Promy is what's best.

I have a 455mm barrel from them, and it's just... beautiful.

Althought I haven't use it yet. :P

Ya, i think ive settles on the Prometheus 6.03 650mm..... seems to be the best barrel short of spending $225 for a PDI (and no one has them in stock....)

I have a 509 mm M16 Madbull Black Python barrel in my L96 and I am making headshot at 150 feet with it constantly. The barrel is overrated get yourself an excellent hop-up, like the PDI hop-up that I have on mine, this makes a much bigger difference. The sad thing is with your SVD, is that you are stuck with the stock hop-up...Besides using AEG spring and the barrel, there is not alot more that you can do on the riffle right now...

ya... ive been reading forums from around the world about this gun and they all say this... my issue now is that i cant find any instructions on how to disassemble this gun... people say, "oh its so easy to disassemble"... but they never say to what extent or how to do it. I know how to change the spring and what not... that really is easy, but to find how to change the barrel... cant find instructions anywhere...

However, durring my searches everyone who actually owns this gun is extremely happy with its performance. I got some .36g BB's comming in a few days so ill have to wait and see how accurrate the gun is with a stock barrel.

from all of the research i've done it uses a V type hopup rubber but a regular AEG hopup rubber will work. All you have to do is cut it down a bit as they are just a little too long...

I have also found that the hopup on its is very consistent. It uses a hex screw and a silicone nub that presses down on the V type rubber

awesome, you should change out the hop up rubber first to a more consistent one. That will have much more effect on consistency and accuracy than the barrel itself.
