Yeah I have my ATT for restricted firearms (I didn't sign any for others though?). That VIS in my avatar is a war trophy taken from the Waffen SS.
In response to your inquiry, I suppose if you told the guy they were parts from replica firearms, which are prohibited devices, he would, I assume say yes because no one should have those parts. I would choose to believe you instead of the CFC, but your story keeps changing. However, Mr. Locks, you started this discussion by professing your sincere belief in following the letter of the law and criticized me for proposing a (possible) transgression of the law, yet now you are admitting that you take part in the possesssion, trade, and public use of prohibited devices? So wouldn't telling me that I may be doing something illegal be a little... hypocritical? You should have nothing but contempt for the law! I didn't say "replica" firearms because I don't beleive airsoft BB guns are replicas - if they were, all of you would be arrested instead of hovering in a grey area of the law. Bodily injury and the discharge of projectiles is perhaps what airsoft survives on. I would never think of adding a part from a prohibited device to a firearm. All in all, I concede to you a most vital fact - knowing the law of a country whose supreme court can readily "interpret" laws against their letter and even spirit, is like nailing jell-o to a bigger piece of jell-o in some sort of jell-o house.

Buddy, I said I was responsible for Real Firearms at the Restricted and Prohibited level. By responsible, I mean Legally Responsible and Legally Allowed. I was also the person allowed to sign for people to get carry-permits.
What is illegal about what I do? My question about what you asked exactly was to prove a point; the CFC has laws to follow, but then depends on the damned Policies to INTERPRET the laws as they see fit. This guy's answer was following Policy, not laws. Had you said the part was an airsoft part, his answer (if he even knew his stuff) would have been different. What you interpret airsoft as is irrelevant. What the CFC and authorities interpret them as IS relevant. Now 'interpret' what I said as you wish. If you want to believe that the (superbly efficient) CFC and others will 'interpret' with common-sense, your choice. Fair enough? I pointed a risk to you, a risk that can bite seriously. |

Not to be a dick there Greylocks- but you have no clue what you are talking about- there are no laws on what parts/mods one may make to an otherwise legal, registered firearm, other than relating to barrel length, overall length, and bull pup conversion stocks. As you seem to be a self proclaimed expert, could you provide a link/source to these "policies" or perhaps a link to anyone ever charged with using airsoft parts to mod a real firearm?

Greylocks hasn't been seen 'round these parts in years. Check the date before you post.
