Yeah it's suppose to be our team uniform. Not everyone is going full CF looking. I decided to get the Tac Vest and CF issued CADPAT. They are getting the ebay banned ACU Cut ones.

ACU = ICU = I 'See' U

CADPAT works amazing in a huge variety of terrain. I also find British DPM works really, really well. On first glance it doesn't appear that different from US Woodland, but damn it works A LOT better.

lets be honest guys.

Any camo's effectiveness is constantly relative to its background and foreground. The true effectiveness of a camouflage pattern should be measured in how often, and how easily you can find these "effective" areas to blend in.

Nice review, while the colours are good close up, the real effectivenesss of digital camoflauge is at a much greater distance. I dont know off the top of my head, but Digital Camo has a much shorter effective range than analog camoflauge. Still, they are designed to be used in further distances

ACU is only effective in a horridly decorated living room.

Well let's be real here, CADPAT is proven to work 30% more effect than the standard OD colour. Meaning a person could get 30% percent closer to a target without being spotted. Granted we are just playing airsoft I'd rather wear something that is going to work than stick out like a sore thumb. The thing people fail to realize is that AO's change different colours, especially ours. Again, I'd rather be wearing something effect as oppose to ACU.

It's alright over there (so I've been told by friends and family currently there). We are all aware of UCP- Delta though. Here is a better resolution picture. I heard (not confirmed) they are pushing for it to be standardized as the uniform.

I think you've misunderstood me Eddie.

Lets say you are in a long hallway where the walls are painted in flat OD.

Do you think it would be easier to spot a man in OD, or a man in CADPAT? Common sense.

Even a clown would be hard to find if he's in front of a wall painted with colours and patterns just like him.

See? It's all relative. I'm not saying CADPAT sucks, or anything else. What I'm saying, is that no single camouflage is "better" than another. There will be places where CADPAT will be 30% more effective than OD, and there will be places where OD will be 30% more effective than CADPAT. You say you wouldn't wear something like ACU. If you are a soldier in Afghanistan, you'd rather wear ACU than lush green TW CADPAT, don't you think? - Well provided they don't have anything else for you to wear

Lol, so true. If only the US Government would wake up and realize ACU doesn't work well with the ever changing terrain of Afghanistan. I've had a friend (Sgt Leal) say, there are places there where CADPAT works in Afghanistan due to the green vegetation.

It wouldn't be bad to adopt UCP-D, its close enough to UCP that the carriers could still be used with a UCP-D uniform.

Logistically it would be a better move as opposed to going for another new pattern like MC.

Just my $0.02...

from the looks of the surroundings, Multicam would work just as well, if not better.

Digital camo in Avatar

I would love to get that digital camo used in Avatar. Lighter greens. I wonder if this is what the new CADPAT will look like?

1.) I dunno how your friend feels about it, but I personally wouldn't want other people tossing my name around online.

2.) I do believe the US Mil/Gov't realizes ACU isn't the best camo as they are testing other patterns right now...

Its all speculation as to what the procurement/R&D document is about, an what changes to CADPAT they will do.. could be anything from the pattern it self, or the colours, etc. Also, don't expect to see anything come out of that for a long time. As well, just because they are making another "CADPAT" doesn't mean we are getting new uniforms, etc, who knows what its for.
