If you don't have a matching lower, it would useless for a real gun. The 416 uses a different bolt and gas system, and is not compatible for use with a standard AR. Airsoft would be the only reason to get one, unless you have the gun already.

HK416 uppers are $3000 US and $5k for the whole gun if you can get your hands on one. They're not for sale to civilians.

Scratch that it looks like they just became legal... in Germany.
