silicone oil
sorry im sure this question as been posted before.
but anyways i just got my propane adaptor for my gbb pistol. i need to put a couple drops of silicone in the adaptor my question is how many mag fills does the 2 drops of silicone fill? like how often do i add silicone oil into the adaptor and i wnet to canadian tire and they did not have any silicone oil. all they had was silicone lubricant, the spray. can i use this and just put a quick spray into the adaptor? if not is there anything else i can pick up from canadian tire to use? thanks alot |

If you think of it this way:
You put two drop in the adaptor and screw it onto the tank. Then you fill 3 mags...mag A, mag B and mag C. Mag A is going to pretty much get all of the oil...Mag B maybe some...Mag C probably not much at all. So...either you put in a couple of drops for each mag...or: - you rotate through your mags so they all get used evenly - you put a drop on the fill valve of each mag, then when you fill the mag they each get a shot of oil too With sprays, it's often the solvent that the stuff is disolved into that causes problems with o-rings. Anything that is rubber friendly and liquid (sorry, forgot the scientific term for liquidy/runny) enough to get in the mag with the gas and blown up into and spread around the pistol is good to go. Note that some stuff tends to "attract" dust/dirt, which will gum up your pistol. Sorry, but I have not found any pure silicone oil at Can Tire. Hobby stores sell it for RC car shocks...the lighter it is, the runnier it is. And yes, this has all been posted before, you should really try f*cking harder to search around. |

Being viscous is bad (ie. Honey has a high viscosity). You want something "non viscous" or as non viscous as possible (such as water or liquid nitrogen).
RC Hobby shops sell 100% pure silicone oil as RC Shock Fluid. 20 wt. is less is what you want. Preferably 10 wt. or less. Airsoft Innovations' silicone oil is 1.5 wt. from what I have read and is the lightest commercially available (usually this is for industrial uses and you must order large amounts of it).

just go to ebay and search "20WT Silicone" and if you don't use ebay to get airsoft stuff (Not guns, unless in Canada) you deserve a slap in the face. lol. Dirt cheap. No driving around, place to place etc. Just purchase and wait the ~2 weeks.
For $6 shipped, I bought 59ml of TEAM ASSOCIATED SILICONE SHOCK OIL 20WT ASC5421
