Both will work well for you due to your size. You're right in the middle.

The only question would be how many mags do you want to carry and what you want to spend.

Larger cumberbund on the Wasatch which adds two more mag pouches.

No CB but there's tan. You can also ask the Farmboy, I'm if anyone can get it, he can.

try one before you buy. I had a weesatch and did not like it one bit. even with plates in it, you adjust it, then when you fill it with mags its too tight, then when you start using mags and placing them in a dump pouch or whatnot it gets way to loose. personally I would go for a woosatch(same thing just without the internal mag pouches) you loose some real estate on it, but personally i feel its better for use.

The Khaki from HSGI is a lighter shade than coyote from TAG, BFG etc.

A large number of guys go with the khaki. The only other color option that is purchased is desert digital. About 75% go khaki and 20% desert digital and 5% go OD.

I've never used a Wa/Weesatch before. I used a HSGI Warlord, which was great when I was in a veh, but when I started doing dismounted patrols I'd rather have had something like webbing an can open from the front. TT 2 piece MAV is what I'd get. But if you know you are going to be in a veh most of the time or just doing short patrols than a chest rig should work for you.

Also, what works for me may be the opposite for you. I know lots of guys who still wear chest rigs an they do lots of dismounted work. Personal preference.

Something to consider with something like a wa/weesatch, its meant to be a stand alone system, ie plates would be inserted into the rig. It wasn't designed to be worn over armour like ours. An with all the weight up front from your mags, grenades, etc your going to want something on the back to balance it ie a water bladder.

I got a TT MAV 2 piece for airsoft... its good... I like it... its just not enough storage for extra kit... like any designated items i would need to carry and so on... as well as papers and stuff I would need access too.... the MAV in my mind is more of a riflemans rig.

How much stuff are you looking to carry? Also, have you tried different pouches?

You are probably like me an pretty much everyone else an have your 2nd line overfilled with a bunch of stuff you really don't need. Once you start wearing your rig an doing the job you will find out what you really need, rearrange your pouches or get other ones, an start streamlining your kit.
