My GBBR
As a newbie to the GBBR I thought I'd post some thoughts I have on the realism factor of this gun (mind you these are AGM OEM parts -mostly) I did'nt bother with the barrel nut and delta ring assembly and barrel as most AEGs have those down -especially the PTW's. So how "real" is the GBBR M4? The good: Heavy and generally realistic bolt carrier (BC) -even has grooves for the Fwd assist. The realistic trigger assembly and slimmer body (notice the full auto): Realistic takedown w/ self retaining body pins: The star chamber (won't actually fit any real 556cal rounds): The functional fwd assist Pistol grip Realistic looking business end Realistic buffer Gastube- can actually be pushed through the body... But you'll have to hollow out these parts: Buffer tube, actually disassembles like the real thing: The not so real parts: Buffer retention pin: fake firing pin looks noticeably fake The way the bolt carrier and charging handle; In the real AR, the charging handle has to be put in first at an angle; like this: whereas (at least on this AGM one,) you have to put the bolt carrier in the charging handle and put it straight in at the same time: which brings me to the bolt carrier itself; the 2 holes above should actually be holes not depressions, The part where the gas tube goes into is blocked and is missing the 2 bolts that the WA and RA-Tech ones have: The bolt is a plasticy color and has this weird tab on the otherside of the BC. Also does not have a place for the fireing pin retention pin. So basically the BC only looks real from one side the mag is real heavy: The body is made of alluminum but has a very real feel to the touch -cool, it's pretty light in comparison to 'real steel' though.

What brand is that recoil buffer in your picture? A G&P?

Looks great! Pfft...unrealistic parts. You can't even see half of them while using it. I hope to eventually get one, probably later down the road. Adds that little more realism with the kick that it has.
