KWA MP7 GBB - newbie review

OK so I'm no expert of airsoft equipment but I'll do my best

Pros:
-very heavy gun even without the mag.
-H&K trades
-body I think is a high impact ABS or some kind of polymer, very tough stuff
-metal internals including the bolt, got a nice kick on propane.
-completely ambidextrous
-has the options of pistol or rifle iron sights
-2 short side rails and a full length top rail for lots of accessories
-solid build, no wobbles anywhere but the stock when extended
-build in vertical grip that can fold away for pistol mode or extended for rifle/smg fire modes

Con:
-honestly, the only problem I can think of is the tool needed to adjust the hopup though a large hex or allen key seems to fit. On top of that, the hopup adjustment is right over the barrel.
-I'm not too crazy about the position of the mag release, similar to a Walther P99 on the trigger guard.

Once I get a chance to print out some targets, I can test fire for accuracy at 20-25feet. Hopefully I can do so before I hand it off to Tyson to toy around with.

If you hand it off to Tyson, could you also confirm that it's the same thing as the KSC mp7?

Yeah, that was part of the point. I was considering the KSC and I'm curious at how different and how similar they are, I know for a fact that Tyson has fiddled with the KSC. Hopefully if I ever damage my MP7, Tyson can source out replacement parts...no pressure m102404 eh!

I'm quite sure that KSC and KWA are one in the same, ksc uses full trades, while the other one doesn't (which explains why there's a KWA USA) Don't take me as 100% on that though

KWA is just the distribution name of KSC in the states. I've talked with some of the people at KWA (Had lots of troubles with my KWA M1911) and I can pretty much hands down confirm that KWA is KSC.

KSC and KWA are sister company's supposedly they say the KWA has stronger nozzle that can take propane better, but since the KWA version has not been around that long it'll take some time to tell

I follow the Arnies forums a lot as they have a worldwide of posters who talk about it as well

Figured I'd tell you I enjoyed the review.

Sometimes long reviews are good; other times its good to be able to read it quickly.

Cheers.

I paid around $470.

Yeah, I don't have the time to do a text book long review anyways.

its okay, your review was quick and to the point, plus had images, so it was a 10 out of 10 in my books

Finally got my KWA MP7

It says made in Taiwan so I am assuming perhaps they did not make the nozzle stronger for the KWA versions.

Anyway in the spirit of Halloween here are some pics, have a safe and happy halloween!

My Personal View

When considering to buy this you should definitely know that this gun is not as comfortable as you may think.

The Hand grip area is a bit too boxy so you may have to add some rubber parts espeically near the thumb area where your right hand rest

The stock is great but since it is not curved and it is just straight it feels a bit awkward and easily slip. You can solve this of course by just placing a rubber contoured pad on the back stock

Aside from some minor comfort issues this gun performs very very well. Compared to other small arms GBB-r SMGs that I have fired this is more consistent in fire than any other SMG GBB I have ever used.

(Yes I made sure no trigger finger on trigger for the safety anal guys)

CQB Game Update

Fielded my gun at the CQB Tactical Paintball field and I must say it exceeded my expectations

First things I suggest is try to find a shoulder or hip holster for this as I find the sling gets in the way of the iron sights since the sling point is right beside it.

The gun is deadly accurate and even more so with my King Arms Small Red Dot sight.

When fielding the gun on Semi-auto I experienced no cool-down with the 40 round magazines and each shot was very consistent, it felt like I was shooting my TM Hicapa just with a body of a MP7. I am definitely going to field this gun more often, and hoping the nozzle won't blow up while I still use it

Also to add

I shot 10 mags on Propane so that is about 400 shots on 0.20, 0.25 and 0.28 and no cracks on the nozzle yet

KWA and KSC MP7 are a little different
http://www.kwausa.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1426

- Nozzle material is made different than the KSC one
- Rocket valve is metal

"If you have the KWA/Umarex version of MP7 then it's safe to use Green gas. With the KSC version. Stay with HFC134a. "
- KWA Staff comment on the versions

I know Tys is around here somewhere going to open up the KWA MP7 one day to take a look at it to see the real difference
