MW2 Night Vision Goggles

For those who were wondering about them...

As most know, MW2 Prestige Edition will include "night vision goggles". We all knew that having these things bundled with the game, it's bonuses, etc means that that's infact ubercheap.

So... a blog has recently received pics of the factory producing them (in China, of course) and then confirm that these are just EyeClops in a better looking case.

http://www.mw2blog.com/leaked-modern...ggle-pictures/

IMHO they're probably slightly updated (like better sensor) since the original EyeClops are already quite "old", but I don't think there's gonna be a reakky notable performances improvement.

If you had already planned to buy the game, these are without a doubt a better bang for your buck than the plastic dummy kit. But as most already figured out, it's obviously not worth it for airsofting.

I hope that this info is going to be useful to someone

I ahve already Preordered MW2, But only the hardened edition, comes with
Call Of Duty Classic.

But I did see the NV goggles and I say they would be a nice Showpiece.
I can still remeber the World At War special Prop... A canteen that you
could not even open.

You could be really 1337 and play with the goggles on, just turn the brightness on your monitor/tv all the way down...

Or you all could realize that the "special editions" of games are just money grabs at fanboys/girls.

Being produced in China, you'll probably see clones (or maybe even overruns from the very same factory) being sold on EB just in time for Christmas.

But considering you can get real Gen1/1+ night vision systems for well under $1000 now (even under $500), it seems rather futile given the lackluster performance.

It appears to be just an Eyeclops in different shell. However one difference is that this has view screens for each eye and the Eyeclops has only the right eye... What difference that makes I can't say.

50 ft is better than 0ft visability...

You cant sacrifice depth perception if you cant even see your hands.

Perhaps tied with an IR Taclite, you may be able to make off with something half decent.

it looks as though its only one camera, meaning that even though you have two screens, theres only one "eye".

Meaning, no depth perception at all. It's just easier on your brain/eyes since you have both eyes open.

If they r like the eye clops they r no use in a game. T get heavy shadows from the flood. No good in woods.

This looks cool. Are there any legal issues in buying or owning night vision equipment in Canada?

It's more at ~80-90 bucks but that's correct, there's the EyeClops using the exact same "technology" at that price in Walmart.

If it's just for show, you might be better with the G&P PVS-7 dummies.

Ahh, thanks for clarifying
