GBB as your primary weapon.

What are my chances of using a GBB in a game where people mainly use AEGs, because I believe that's what people mainly use. I don't want to get an AEG just yet. I know I'll be out numbered by AEG ammo, but what if I preserve my ammo and carry a lot of magazines.

It's been done.

However you're at a disadvantage in regard to effective range and ammo. Although that just might make you pick your shots and become more crafty when playing.

I played a pistol game before and totally got owned by the guys running TM Mk.23's.

I'd say if you're going to run a pistol only setup go with 4 or 5 mags minimum. Carry them on a modular belt with pistol mag pouches.

All depends on where you play.

In any CQB environment, you
can easily hold your own. The
smaller the space the easier a
pistol can maneuver around.

Head over to TTAC3 on Dupont

PS: don't talk about strategies,
get out and try them!

I recently played an outdoor game with a stock Glock 26 against AEG's. And although they were semi-only, they still had a distinct advantage. Really makes you use your eyes and particularly ears a lot more, and the combination of limited ammo and range teaches you very quickly when to shoot and when to turn tail and run. Definitely a lot of fun on the right field!

Yeah, I guess it would be good to go pistols indoors. For outdoors, I would guess AEGs are better. Okay, thanks all. I'm gonna pull a Jack Bauer.

Before I had any money or airsoft experience (Not that I have much more of either now...)

I bought a cheap KJworks GBB pistol.
I played with that and 6 mags and it really taught me how to play.

I used to use a JG M4, and it felt distictly easier after having played with just a pistol.

So, GBB may have been harder to use, but it really helped me learn tactics, as well as how to conserve ammo.

GBBR as a primary is great (lots more fun than AEG) but not if its cold.

Pistol GBB as a primary... meh.

Agreed with Safx

CQB Battles = Use Pistol

Try it out you won't reget it

If you want extra kicks put on a few rubber buffers onto the spring guide for faster cycling, add too much it won't rack on empty but it sure as hell makes double tapping very snappy and fun

I've done it and you really need to have your shit together, but it can work well. Make sure to use heavy BBs, say 0.28g or 0.30g, to increase your brush penetration, range and impact power (helps the guys KNOW they got hit), but also you have to learn to use the heavier BBs, say aiming for the head in order to hit the chest past 100ft.

A Guy in our club uses Only GBB and NBB pistols, weather CQB, or Outdoor. Provided you've got enough gas, mags, and your sneaky, you'll be fine. He is definatley one of the scariest guys out there, with that ridiculously silent MK.23.

I'll vouch for the TM Mk23 Socom NBB being an amazing choice for a pistol primary. I used to run just that and get spectacular results against AEGs. Makes you learn to not be seen as you move.
