G&G M4 Blowback

I am looking at buying the G&G M4 Carbine with blowback from BuyAirsoft.ca. I know that fps doesnt reflect the quality of the gun but I am concerned that the fps of the gun (320fps) is too low. Should I upgrade it with a new spring? Also, because of the blowback feature, would it be harder to find internals for it?

Thanks

320 is perfectly acceptable, it is gameable both indoors and outdoors.

Avoid the blowback, it'll give you troubles in the future when you're upgrading.

Get the standard non-blow-back one.

It uses some non-standard gearbox parts.

Now I have yet to take one of the blow-back ones apart... but I'm told that is uses a proprietary gearbox shell and piston.

The blow back is extremely pathetic... and hardly worth the extra cost... (In my opinion)

my friend got it for 200$ (local sell) a G&G M4 blowback. I think there's no complain about it but if your buying a brand new for like 400$. I don't think its worth it.

some parts get extra wear and others arent compatible because it is using a modified v2 i am assuming.

also the blow back on them is minimal ( read: almost nothing ) it is just a thin bolt coving moving back and forth for looks

Like everybody said already, it causes extra stress on the piston and gears.

I have a full metal L85 and I noticed that the bolt was scratching against the body of the gun from insufficient lubrication/sand getting in during play. I'd imagine that it would be much worse on a plastic gun.

I've only taken a couple apart. There's some brain dumps and notes in the reviews section. Search and read those.

Short notes:
- the blow back design is technically quite good in that there seems to be little to no additional additional stress put on other parts (i.e. it probably won't mangle itself to death)
- basically a piggy back piston that moves a tin dustcover back and forth.
- very weak action...kind of annoying after the first minute or so
- proprietary mechbox shell, cylinder, dustcover and obviously piggy back part...the rest of the internals looked "sportline-ish"...mid to low end. 1 rifle had a very badly moulded cylinder head...maybe a 1 off mistake, don't know.

Search the other threads...there's lots written up about them.

Get the standard non blow back model, get the GBB blow back gun later if you do want a blow back.

I don't think it does.. but that's not a big deal, dry-fire the gun in semi twice and your spring will be de-compressed.
