WA GBB M4 with lots-o-G&P parts added...
This has been an ongoing project of mine since February '09. The original rifle was acquired from the ASC classifieds with the following components...
M4 Details:
I would have preferred a CF or Colt metal body but in this case, beggars can't be choosers and I knew the sale wouldn't last long before slipping on a large bananna peel so I went for it. Once received, I set to work figuring out just what I wanted to do with the rifle. In the end after much thinking, plowing through picture threads and looking at my now wafer-thin wallet I came up with a rather simple plan. In keeping with my first desired impression; namely that of generic SWAT/SF assaulters which generally wear all-black as well, I decided to keep it "Painted Black" (good tune, thanks Mick). Well, several months and more than a few $$ later, this is where it's at so far. It has had almost 1000 rounds through it and a full day skirmishing @ FR with only a minor malfunction since corrected. Playing with it is more akin to shooting BA rifles in that you had better pick your shots carefully instead of just hosing the opposite side with BB's AEG style. Accurate aiming at longer ranges on full-auto is almost impossible due to the recoil and muzzle climb -- kicks very much like a .22LR -- so semi-auto shooting is the order for the day for long shots, and I guess FA for 50 ft or less would probably be ok. M4 Details: All of the previous list plus the following...
Normally, I wouldn't have everything mounted on the gun all at once as shown in the pics as that makes it quite a heavy beast to lug around. For normal use, I would tend to go with just the EO-551 and carry the 200 lumen flashlight in a pouch in case it's needed, or mount the PEQ-2 and leave the flashlight in its pouch. I find that with the rather substantial recoil, it's practically impossible to use the 3x mag and follow your shots at the same time. The mag IS good however for spotting your foe down-range. At any rate, comments welcome (including critics) as this has been both an expensive but enjoyable learning experience for me and the learning is by no means finished. Ready...FIRE...Aim! 'Fly

Yes, I'm pretty good at guessing. I like those GBB rifle but there are two thing that limit me not to get one, due to the expensive of mags and limit of summer use, the rest are seem to be fine compare to other PTW user out there, it would hit you around that price as well once you upgrade everything to PTW until no stock form anymore. My old look simple PTW already worst to 2700 $.
I like the clean look of this rifle. It's so attractive especially the real steel 551 on this babe. Next step, you should get a real steel AN/PEQ-2 , lol. Would you mind to take a close up picture on the other side of the rifle, I want to see the close look the trade on another side. Thanks.

Very nice, too bad about the typo on the G&P body though. I thought they would have fixed it by now. The gun itself just looks.. right. Lol maybe it's the all-black Magpul furniture. Most folks seem to get the coloured ones, but I like the black a lot.

How much is a WOC in country anyway? Could he save some money by going that route(assuming he hasn't get this before WOC was out?), since this is basically a G&P WOC?(as in WA based gun with reinforced G&P parts)?

For KND...I will post your requested pictures as soon as I find a moment with ideal natural lighting with which to take them. I was hoping for this evening but it looks like I may have to work later than I thought so it will be fairly dark by the time I get home. 'Fly

Pic request for KND...there was just enough light left to do these!
Details of the left side: Typical skirmish load...only essential accessories mounted: Note: Some of you may have noticed that the flashlight mount on the left side rail looks strangely like a QD-twist Aimpoint magnifier mount, and you'd be correct! I had this thing lying around ever since moving to the LaRue FTS mount and when the light arrived from Deal Extreme, it fit nicely into the 30mm ring of the AP mount. It makes for very fast on/off deployment of the light and when it's on there, it's quite solid with no rattling around and is positioned perfectly for left thumb operation. Also: I am not entirely sure the MOE handguard does it for me either but one thing it does allow is rapid & easy access to the hop-up adjustment located underneath the outer barrel and in front of the delta ring. Installing a fixed RIS/RAS rail system would make accessing the hop-up a real PITA whereas with the MOE, it's as simple as pulling back on the D-ring and dropping the lower handguard to expose the adjustment wheel. I may just end-up splurging on a "real-steel" DD Omega rail sometime later on but for now the setup works for me. Final thought: I really wish Magpul (Travis) would start production of their BAD (battery assist device) sometime this century, or at least allow the PTS division to make an airsoft-only version!! It's just about the only thing I'd like to add to this setup... Ready...FIRE..Aim! 'Fly
