ok to mix camo?

this has been itching me for a wile now and im looking to purchase some camo and don't want to change the type of camo. for example pay 300$ on cadpat then find that acu works better then have to pay another 300$

I personaly think from google images that ACU and muticam seem to work well together because of ACU taking in coulars and the multi working with them.

but seriouse i have no clue what camo is best so im asking people who switched camo to answer another question

why did you switch and why?

so basically im wondering if anyone mixed camo like cappat vest and acu pouches and if it works succesfuly.

i did do some research but im looking for first hand experiance.

also im hearing people who wear multicam refer to it as NOOB cam

btw i kinda like tiger stripe but im not sure anyone wears that sorte of thing XD

if you are willing to pay $300 on camoflage, go to a surplus store and get three different patterens. also you should take a look at the local growth to see what pattern is best for your use.

well most people (myself included) buy cadpat just to shine some light on the maple leaf in our hearts

Most of the time Camo is just used to distinguish teams (greens vs tans, digital vs analogue, etc...). It isn't used as a way to make you invisible most of the time since, like its been mentioned, camo only works in certain environment which can vary from acre to acre.

You can also try getting different camo for your bdu but keep your vests or chest rigs one color that can work with all three, Black can work with most camo(but can also stand out alot), OD green is also good(works with my multicam and jungle camo), iv seen desert camo with od vests with the marines.

Best thing i think you can do is look for pics on our vegitation and the different seasons you plan to play on , then look for different military camo and mix and match what you feel works. Lots of pics from Canadian teams out there and see how they mix their camo.

1)Mixing camo = OK. If you check out some folks they'll mix top and bottoms in various patterns to help break up their shape and signature. In other words two small different lumps, instead of one big same lump.

2)Local cam patters. Hit up a few games in the area and see what folks wear, and then look for the people you can't see until they move.

If you *really* want to stand out and be different... wear plain OD. It's inexpensive yet effective, and not a lot of people wear it as a first choice over other patterns because it's "boring."

I use tiger stripe for the most part. It works great for the tire field I play on. Tiger is somewhat boring but for pine trees it might work good... unless their bright green pine trees :P

My team and I wear mixed camo. It's effective in dense growth in a mixed wood.
We use OD Pants (Any shade, faded or new) with S95 Woodland DPM Shirt, Smock and Boonie with OD Chest Rigs + Pouches.

Something to consider, it's really all about preference.

I wear Fleck tarn top with Cadpat pants and a green Shmeag *sp?* over my head, Bug eyed screen goggles so no fogging up or sun glinting off them for the other team.

I live in kelowna and apparently what I have thrown together works really well for this area. talking to some guys I play against and apparently I can not be seen unless I am moving, and when I am moving its more a blur/lump that the eye has troubles picking up.

so we did some testing... and one thing that most people seem to over look is there face/head/hands. The eye tries to look for shapes it reconizes, so if your all camoed up but you got your face sticking out uncovered the eye is gonna pick it up and the brains going to put the rest together.

Your from BC, try some Fleck tarn... if its greener where you are try the cadpat I would say.

One day this summer I plan to try and do an outfit where every piece is a different pattern or colour - desert marpat pants, woodland m65 jacket, green or tan shemagh, 3 colour desert boonie hat (or multicam HSG ballcap), and for a vest, either my OD green vest spray-painted tan, or UCP chest rig.
