Anti reversal latch
is the anti reversal latch something 100% required? because im having alot of trouble getting it into my mechbox while im putting it back togetherm so i was hoping i could just leave it out, will reversing break anything?

Yes, it's required. It stops your mechbox from winding backwards under spring tension. It can present some issues closing the mechbox, just don't get frustrated everytime it pops out. Be patient and take your time. Alternatively, you can purchase a Modify anti-reversal latch which has a clip thing that apparently makes it stay in a little better (haven't personally installed one).

No, it is not 100% required and nothing will break, but your mechbox will make a strange wind down noise after each shot, and your semi-auto shots will have slower start ups.
You can use some viscous grease to hold it in place when installing. |

A dab of Lith-Ease, not much required (White Lithium grease meant for gears and stuff. I think I got the name right, not 100% sure, anyone confirm?) works wonders, you can get it at Canadian tire and it's not badly priced for how long a tube lasts

put the mechbox down with the nozzle pointing away from you. Take a thin piece of wire about 10 inches long and loop it around the anti-reverse latch and hook both ends of the wire under the mechbox. Go ahead and start lining everything else up. Once you get the spring in and close the top, you'll be able to pull on one end of the wire and all is good!

Your sig, as quoted above. You should know whether it's needed or not. How can you effectively fix other peoples guns without knowing things like this. I'm by no means an expert or been doing work on my own guns long but knowledge of something should be obtained/held before any competency can be claimed and competency should be had before working on the property of others.

Yes it's 100% required...
I don't think you should be offering gun-doctor services if you don't know what an anti-reversal latch is... |

Yes it's a pretty required part.
Here's my very crude method, but it works. Assuming your mechbox is sitting on a flat surface, take a pair of needlenose pliars, lay them on the table, grip the anti-r with them, set something heavy down on the handle, and that should keep it in place. Then put the other half of the mechbox on, take out the pliars, and it won't pop out. Then you can wiggle it into place with something thin such as a small allen wrench.

Like others have said, stick a bit of grease in the hole to make it stick if it's popping out.
