MP5 Mount and Tasco
I was just thinking about this...with a JG MP5, would you NEED a mount to attach a Tasco Red Dot? I have the mount on the way, but I'm just wondering if I really need it?

yes, you need the claw mount

And even then you might not be able to mount it, depending on the clamp on the rds and the type of claw mount. I noticed on the CA low profile claw mount I recently purchased the the way it's designed any sight with one wide clamp won't fit on it. you need one with two seperate smaller clamps.

I don't have the tools, knowhow or handyness to do mods like that but it's certainly an option if you have those things.

I bought the Tasco today, and when i turned it on, no dot was showing up! I think it might be the battery because I think it was on a brightness setting when i bought it, so the battery is dead already. Has this happened to anyone else?

mail order or walk in store? return it if it's suppose to have a battery. otherwise, just get a new one. they a buck or less depending where you buy them. I've found some no name brand at the dollar store for a buck plus tax but I get Energizers from work cheaper.

If you have a Dollarama there, they sell three packs of the same battery for a buck. I usually stock up on them once in a while since I have three Red dots and also my calculator at work uses it.

My Tasco battery was also dead when I bought it a while ago. Make sure your windage and elevation knobs work. The windage on the first two I bought didn't work.

My tasco sight needed to meet mister dremel before it fit on my marui low profile claw mount. Get that other one that was shown, from ebaybanned. woulda been nice if I got that instead as the one i have limits my options for optics.

I bought it directly at Canadian Tire, in store. I'm almost positive it's the battery though because the side of the package was already open, which means someone just took it back and probably accidentally left the scope on. Oh well, picking up some batteries soon and I'll give you guys an update if it works or not.
