RDS
I forgot to turn off and left my RDS "on" for like 8 hours. I haven't notice lessening of the dot's illumination, I just replaced the batt. Usually how long does the dot's illumination last?

mines lasted for like 30 hours before, i left it on like 3 times after games by accident

It's actually depend on your battery that you are using as well. High quality battery can be last long at least 30 hours but I usually put one dollar in there and it last long only like 10 or 12 then it's completely done. I usually accident don't turn off for 1 night as well and it's done but still one dollar, you get 3 battery so you can't complaint much.

ok, battery is just fine. But how about its laser (or is led?) What is its usual lifetime?

I would assume that if you bought a china clone it would not last as long. EOtechs supposedly have life times in teh 100,000's of hrs.

I changed my aimpoint batteries after 4 years of use.
I don't know how many houres that give it, but it's plenty enough! I'm carefull to turn it off when not in use though. Even in between skirmishes at games.
