Hehe really now, backyard airsoft wars for the kiddies JUST GOT BETTER!
On the bright side, hopefully they will have nice pricing since they are a big store, I feel sorry for the CANsoft retailers if this is true tho. |

... fuuuuuuuck.
It's bad enough they sell krakens and stuff... I was in there before and I heard a new cashier getting trained... She asked "Aren't I supposed to check ID for the airsoft stuff?" and the supervisor training her said "Not really, if they look over 15 just sell it to them anyways." I really dislike that store.. and Winnipeg has enough under-age clearsofters as it is... It's just making it THAT much harder to get Airsoft recognized as a legitimate adult sport. |

It will also make it that much harder to enforce the various legal provisions against airsoft guns in the long run.
As for getting "Airsoft recognized as a legitimate adult sport"... Because if something stands to be recognized as a legitimate kids sport, it obviously mean adults cannot play it?

kids fucking around in their backyard with airsoft guns is not a legitimate kid's sport, what we do responsibly is not what they do, can't even compare the two.

I didn't have kids in the backyard in mind. I was speaking about kids at paintball fields.
And it's not like adults don't do similarly stupid things in their backyard. Yes, those irresponsible people aren't airsofting, regardless of their age.

ok so lets just get rid of the 18+ system so all the kiddies can get guns and help us legalize our sport

Who said anything about helping the kids along? If Cabela's selling cansoft, it's out of our hands. We can either stick our heads in the sand and pretend nothing's changed, or we can adapt the changes to suit our needs as best as we can.
At the end of the day, the 18+ system isn't law, and there's no law against minors having imitation firearms.

We can have an opinion on it, just because we can't stop them from selling to kids doesn't mean we can't be pissed about it. Im not as welcoming to underaged kids with airsoft as you are that's all

Oh great here comes the 18+ argument again. I find it rather funny that most of people who get going on this are barely over 18 themselves. But thats just me.
As for a store bring in the Cansoft gear, I am pretty sure that they will follow the rules in regards to the 18+ with ID. The reason being that if they are caught selling to anyone under the age of 18, they will be investigated and fined as they also sell firearms in that store.

18+ policy means nothing vs. "mommy can I get this gun please..."
