Canada Post Issues
So in late November, I ordered the Milspex G36K conversion kit from eHobbyAsia, fully expecting to be the first person (to my knowledge, at least) to receive one and review it for you guys. As December rolls out, still no package or letter from the CBSA, so I contact eHobby and they give me the tracking number, I put it in and it reads: "International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs." Last week rolls around and I figure it's been too bloody long, so I call the CBSA and they tell me that they can't track a package and the Canada Post puts that message up for "all international parcels" and that I should contact CP. I contact CP and they say that I need to get the sender to put a trace on the package because it's been "too long" and that I can't do it despite it being a package for me.
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what I should do about it. My options are either bug eHobby to trace and risk being flagged as a "bad customer", complain to PayPal for money back, even though it isn't eHobby's fault, or get a refund and get over it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Thats normal, their contract (cp that is) is with the sender not you. For a late delivery/loss of shipment, a trace/claim needs to be started by the sender.

I suggest you contact eHobby and explain the situation. They're very nice to deal with, and I'm sure they can initiate the trace for you.
Not too long ago, after a long delay I received a horribly mangled package (with damaged content + lost bits) -- the package was ripped and a portion of the packaging looked BURNED. Dunno wtf happened to it. It was in one of those Canada Post "Oh snap!" plastic bags. Totally wasn't eHobby's fault. But upon contacting them with a picture of what I'd received, they proceeded to make things right. I've always had good service from them, but that totally earned them a spot among the very best in my book.

Had the same problem few months ago with a Serpa holster I had ordered from the US.
Package never made it here (nor any letter from CBSA), and the "International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs" was there up until last month, and now when I enter the tracking number it gives me a message "Please call Customer Service at 1 888 550-6333 for assistance with this item", but as stated CP will only answer to the sender. I ended up getting a refund and seller said they lost/misplaced the item, and is still waiting for them. Now the most recent issue I'm having with Canada Post is a pair of gloves I shipped out to Ontario on Dec 30 (via Expedited), which was estimated to get there on Jan 7, but up to now the only info on Canada post tracking system is that the item was accepted at the Post Office in Edmonton, so called them up, and they said they will investigate and get back to me in 5 business day.

Been there, they are slack. They lost a $520 money order in September then they say they cannot find or refund it for a new one? Then it appears in Dec. How magical.

My item has been in customs since January 11 still waiting...
I bet they steal the packages they open up. Those mother*******, there is no way it takes over 1 month for them to inspect something. A couple of more days and I will contact the the sender again. Last edited by stokes; February 6th, 2009 at 19:02.. |

Same here...stokes
My stuff took only two days to arrive Canada on Jan 26 from Hong Kong, and it's still in customs... I wonder why Canadian systems are always so slow when compared to Asia...

I just had the same issue also buying off EHobby. It was a hand guard for my CA36, ordered Dec 18, at the boarder 3 days later, was at the boarder for just over a month, got notice on my door that CP attempted a delivery when no one was home. I went through the same channels also, contacted CBSA who told me to get a hold of CP who told me to get the sender to open open a case on a possibly missing item. Picked up the item yesterday, it was obviously opened, but nothing missing.

Did you get the sender to open up a case for the missing item?

So, the issue was resolved yesterday when I found a package in my mailbox!! It took two months, with no word from the CBSA or CP, but it came..... I'm glad this is all over with, and I'm really happy they didn't decide to tax it, because that would have just been the icing on the cake :P
