sovietarmystuff.com.... what where your experiences??

I just recieved some " Original Ukrainian Marine camo / unused surplus from sovietarmystuff.com , and I was not impressed with the product they sent. It was not the same as pictured on their site. Reproduction product is what they sent, as well they sent me the wrong size.

There is no mil-spec marking as in the photos. The material is thin. The stitching is not very strong. The trousers have no foot loops, as in the photos, The pockets in the trousers are made from thin satin type material. And the trousers are unhemmed, as well there is no reinforcement in the seat or button on the waist for adjustment, as in the photos.
The embroidery on the patches was poor quality with lots of pulls, and the patches themselves were barely stiched on.(1/2'- 1' stitches) and on the opposite(reversed) sleeves, and the breast patches were stiched on very poorly as well, one that was sewn on three sides of the rectangle.

here are some photos....

Just wondering what anyone else's experience was like with them. I have contacted them, and he is suggesting a partial refund. I figured I would post this so others can see it and make their own judgement.

Original.... new unused surplus. Does not say reproduction anywhere. And all the photos are there. Same on the eBay site.

Only a partial refund? If you paid via paypal I would file a grievance.
Make sure to take screen shots of the listing for evidence in case the retailer decides to change the listing info.

It sucks bigtime. I really like the pattern, and it probably will work good in early spring/late fall. Oh well. More hunting.
Edit.. I just talked to my buddy in Kiev, Ukraine. And he is going to get me the real mil-spec stuff. So all is not lost in my camo hoarding.
I will see how much other stuff he can get his hands on too.

Sorry you had a bad experience, I have had 3 big orders from them and they have been fine.

They got some hat sizes wrong, but sent me replacements. I bought my Flora winter bdu set (the one in the chechen russin loadout thread) and it is solidly built, good quality and seems to have all the right trade marks.

I hope you get it sorted out IronOverlord, I know you were looking forward to getting that kit. A shame they buggered it up.

Hmmm, comparing the pics, your set does indeed look very shoddy compared to the picture on the shop site.

Disappointing, I thought they were one of the russian army gear sites (actually behind the Iron curtain) you could trust.

I was going to order some OMON urban gear off them soon, now I might reconsider.

Added a few more pics, yeah , I hope it works out. If he gives me a fair refund, at least 50% back, It will be fair. I can maybe get seams reinforced with some better stitching, the pants hemmed, I will remove the patches, and probably get the front pockets replaced, or sewn shut. Buttons and button holes on the fly reinforced, and sleeves shortened. Then it may work. I don't even want to think how it will handle the washing machine.

That isn't repro. I've never heard of any repro east bloc uniforms other than some repro KLMK oversuits. It's hit or miss ordering this stuff sometimes. That said, ask for a refund or a better condition replacement if you can. Often this stuff can leave factories in piss poor condition.

I've ordered from this site a few times and never had problems.

There are no markings other than the 52 tag, They do not have any mil-spec stamps. and there is no way this stuff was meant for military use. It would fall apart after a good hard day in the field, and a trip through the washing machine.
I have German flectarn, Danish M84 and CF OD, all surplus mil-spec stuff , and this is not mil-spec quality, not even close. Did you even look at the photos and the links to compare?
I think if it was authentic it would at least have the proper markings, and patches in the correct places. The pants would have hems. There wouldn't be thin satin pocket linings. And the stitching would be way stronger. And why then, the discrepency in the photos between what I have, and what is on their sites.

I 'almost' purchased this very same set last night but opted out because the shipping charge was over the top. The images and description they have provided on their website are dramatically different than what they seemed to have delivered to you.

I would ask for a proper replacement of product first, providing you with exactly what they promised, failing that, a total refund. I would like to use these guys as they have a lot of cool stuff, but there seems to be mixed reviews of their products. -OR- it could just be that you are experiencing a little of the "patchwork" style of russian BDU workmanship.

No offense, but you have no idea what you are talking about. I have a couple different authentic items that don't have this "mil-spec stamp". The fact that you call it Ukrainian Marine Camo instead of Ukrainian TTSkO really shows the lack of knowledge. You got a shit quality item, sure. It's authentic though.

EDIT: The more I think about it, the more I think that you received a factory second.

I called it that, as that is what it is labeled by the seller, and to keep things understandable to everyone reading this.
It's original designation is Kostjum Letnij Polevoj (Tip "A") Trekhtsvetnij , or in English .. Three-coloured Summer Field Uniform (Type "A") or "Dubok" (little oak) It is even called "woodland" sometimes. In Russian kit, it is designated M-1988. And there are a few different variations.
I know enough to know this is not authentic. So don't be pissing down my back and tell me it's raining. Maybe you got a good reproduction.

Actually, Russian TTSkO and Ukrainian TTSkO is pretty different, this isn't M-1988.

This isn't reproduction. There's no such thing is reproduction TTSkO. Hope you get your refund though.
