Good sniper rifle...

Hey all,

I've been looking to buy a sniper rifle to play with. Obviously I want something pretty quiet so I've been thinking I would like to get a Tokyo Marui VSR-10 G Spec. I've noticed there are many VSR-10 replicas. How do these compare in your opinions? And, are there any other sniper rifles worth considering?

1: Are you even old enough to play airsoft?

2: What other guns do you have IF you're old enough?

1) I am 19 years old and am waiting to be age verified so I can post in the classifieds.
2) I own a Tokyo Marui MK23 Socom which was purchased from Airsoft Kelowna when they still sold guns.

@ Knivezs
Thanks for all the links. Granted there is useful info there, but not what I'm looking for. I don't need to choose what type of gun I want to buy. I know what type of play style I like as I have played different war games in the past. I am going to buy a sniper rifle so its a non-issue. I'm just wondering if there are other options that more experienced airsoft players might have that I have not yet come across.

TM VSR-10's are VERY good rifles once you upgrade 'em

I personally use one myself.

The TM VSR-10 is a great spring operate gun, with lots of options when it comes to upgradabilty and becomes a very formidable airsoft gun once it is upgraded. However if your interested perhaps you would like to have a look at this...

Aside from that I cannot recommend anything else.

id rather have an l96 but thats for personal reasons since my family hunts and i find that hunting rifle look to be rather boring.
from what i understand the only differences between the vsr and l96 is the stocks

If you're looking to 'Try' being a sniper, I wouldn't buy an expensive one right off the bat.

What I did is I got a clone of the TM VSR-10 and practiced playing sniper for a bit. I did this to see how much different it would be from my other playing styles, and in all honesty I think it's a good idea. If you can get a feel for being a sniper rather than just jumping into it and buying an expensive one, it's more worth it.

I'd take a look at getting a Clone, maybe even the Well L96, but wait until your age verified before deciding to dive straight into sniper rifles.

Once you get verified, you will see many sniper platform for sale on this site.

Be prepared to dump more than 1000$ to build one. Used, they go as low as 700$.

I would also strongly suggest that you look into the sniper clinic if you have an instructor in your erea. It's the perfect way to quickly know if sniping is for you. You will save a lot of time and money if you find out that crawling in wet grass and mud for 2h to shoot at nothing is for you.

I don't believe we have been contacted by anyone in BC interested in becoming an instructor, so you should try to find a couple of players who snipe at some of your local scrims and chat with them. They'll be able to tell you everything you need to know....or should know.
