STAR is now branded as ARES
It's official, if you go to WGC or Redwolf or any site, you can see the prices of STAR branded guns dropping for the name change.

wow, even the star guns on wgcshop have gone down quite alot. A STAR G36 is now a bit less than 200. I hope the savings are passed on to the Canadian airsofter

ARES also has the Tanaka Works L96 and a Spring/Gas Barrett .50 cal

So does Star now have a subsidary called Ares, much in the same way VFC has Avalon? I'll take a PGM, M200-B and a M200-T plz!

Pretty easy to piece together, I believe ARES will be strictly Guns, and STAR strictly parts and accessories, hence why STAR magazines haven't dropped in price.
Another clue is STAR's logo, it says "Airsoft Accessories" right under the logo. |

Oh shit, actually ARES might be a conglomerate of both STAR and King Arms! The FN FAL and the FNC have given me this clue!
