TM M4 Acting Strange In Need Of Help

Hey there guys, I'm usually very good when it comes to figuring this weapon out but this is just stumping me. My gun will work fine for maybe... 3-20 shots and then it just stops, with a very subtle strugling winding noise... similar to the start of a battery dying. Now the battery is fully charged so its not that its dying on me here...

Now I've taken it apart 3 times now, took out the mechbox and dismantled it to see if anything broke in there... nothing, all the teeth look great everything is in the spots they need to be in *shrugs* so I put it back in the gun, re-run the wires plug the battery in and bingo! it works again... for 3-20ish shots and then locks up again.

Any suggestions as to something I can look for as to why this might be happening?

After it locks up, does it make any noise when you pull the trigger?

I was reading some things in the AEG solutions section and realized I didn't mentioned that. It makes the most subtle struggling winding noise as I mentioned and then silence. In full auto or semi there is nothing, switching between them results in no change. I thought at first that something was broken inside, but as I said I've noticed no broken or cracked pieces and it works great when I put it back together and in the gun for those first shots until it locks up on the last one shot. Thats something I should specify aswell is that the struggling noise is for the last shot, two at best and then just locks down.

I'm going to try cleaning the contacts for the trigger and battery points as suggested here by CDN_Stalker: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=16952 I'm hoping thats it, but I don't see why it would work, lock up like its not getting power any more until i take it aprat and put it back together and then have it work great again... its a little sluggish is another thing with the firing rate but I always chalked that up to having a bit of a heavier spring to put it to 320-330 fps.

Any recent changes? New gears? New charger? Got more than 1 Battery? Can you test your battery with someone elses gun to narrow down the problem? If new gears, maybe wrong type an right packaging and has a different pitch so that it will rotate a few turns then bind? Possible charger packed it in and not fully charging batteries? Cold solder joint in on of the plugs, heats up and gets more resistance?

To respond to Knightwarrier first, gun was upgraded about two years ago and worked fine until this year, but wasn't used at all last year. I do have multiple batteries all yielding the same result. The upgrade was done by JohnnyDo and consisted of:

1 TM M4A1
1 Guarder FTK-40 Guarder Full Tune Up Kit For M4A1
"S303 Stainless Steel, Brass, Polycarbonate, Aluminum, Acetal and Steel
SP120 Spring (Oil Quenched/Tempered Si-Cr Alloy Steel Wire)
Polycarbonate Piston
Air Seal Nozzle
Ball Bearings Spring Guide
Polycarbonate Ventilation Piston Head
Stainless Cylinder Head
Lucid Chromium Plating Cylinder
Original Type Steel Gear
Enhanced Tappet Plate
6mm Steel Bushing
Shim Set
SUPER-LUBE Oil X3"
1 GE-07-01 Guarder Hop Bucking
1 Z-09-26 Systema BS 6.04mm Barrel for M16A1

So I tried cleaning the connectors with lighter fluid although they didn't look dirty or worn in any way and tightened their clamp where the wires attach. No luck... when I connected the motor without putting it in the grip it spun like a madman but when I put it in the handel and tried it again I got one shot before it stopped again. But this time I could hear it TRYING to turn but wouldn't budge.

Have you tried adjusting the motor height? The motor could be sitting too high and putting extra strain on the gears.

I took out my motor and tried one from a friend's CA M16 and neither worked... so it can't be the motor. But when I put it in to test it it didn't even fire a few shots, sounded like the motor was trying to turn the gears but could only move them a tiny bit and gave up each pull of the trigger, same with when I put my motor back in. I'm thinking I might just send it out to a gun smith to figure it out...

If you guys have any more suggestions I'll hold onto it a bit longer to see, but feel free to recommend anything.
