ak-47 front handguard
hey, i'm having problems removing the front handguard on my ak-47. i've searched google and this site for tips and i just can't find any info. somebody please just reveal the little caramilk secret for me?
ps, i'm not an idiot usually... i just don't want to break anything

What model is the AK? You can usually find manufacturer's exploded diagrams and figure it out from there. Most brands are a little different from one another.

- remove the dummy barrel cleaner (that metal stick under the outer barrel)
- remove the screw that's under the gas tube (2nd screw down from the tip of the barrel) - slide the gas tube towards the end of the barrel remove top and lower handguards - if necessary, you will need to reuse the greyish plastic parts if you are replacing them with different ones |

got it. i didn't know the dummy cleaning rod was removable... it was stuck in there real good. thanks.
