Which eotech 553 replica?
I have found the Eotech 553 replica to be readily available (finally!) but, Which brand is actually of better quality? G&P vs. Hurricane... I currently own a G&P Aimpoint replica and am happy with the quality, but I've never seen anything made by Hurricane. So, please share your opinions and reviews. Thanks

Hurricane makes quality parts and accessories.
G&P also makes quality parts and accessories. Honestly you cant go wrong with choosing either or.

My HurricanE 552 and 553 have taken 400fps hits and not a scratch, I put a polycarb protector on it regardless but didn't have the material to make it before my first game with it, thus the hits. I have seen huangs and other chinese 551's, 552's. and 553's break from 300fps hits at an indoor field.
Don't know anything about G&P |

The Hurricane 553 I just got in uses this reticle, I like it more than the thin ring and dot type.

Define ghosting. Is it multiple reticles, or reflection from the rear glass?
The Hurricane has a razor sharp single reticle and I can't see anything untoward from the window. It's bright enough for the sunniest day outdoors. Here it is next to another, I can't trick my camera into focusing on the ring, but both are on full bright. 553 on the right and 551 on the left. Nitpicks? The battery cover is a more light tan than FDE than I'd like and on the lowest setting it's too bright to use after dark. |
