Just did a huge WGC order, I excite!

Me and some friends did an order together. I got a whole bunch of MP7 upgrade parts, can't wait! For some reason though WGC discontinued aftermarket spring guides for the MP7.

Question, though. Which Hong Kong dealer do most people here use? (for parts that have no risk of seizure)

Also, we were given the option of changing the invoice amount at checkout. We kept it at 100%, since we didn't want to fuck anything up and risk hassles at the border. Is it safe to go lower?

eHobby has most things, or ebayBanned, but ebayBanned doesn't have everything.

Running a couple hundred dollars worth of fines/duties to save a couple dozen dollars worth of declared duty is probably not a good gamble.

Anyways, for HK orders, I find myself going with eHobby these days for the most part. I do a WGC or UNCo order if I can't find what I want at eHobby, or during the Christmas season when they have their sales.

Redwolf mostly... Was a big WGC customer a while back though. It all depends on who has what in stock.

It all depends on the price, but mostly avalaibility. When I place an order, it is because I need the parts.

I prefer Redwolf, because you can buy right away without waiting for your ovepriced shipping quote. I find their website much faster to browse too, Uncompany and WGC always take forever to load, using EI or Firefox.

The advantage of WGC and Uncompany is that they allow you to reduce the total written on the bill, which means that you save on custom fees. I think it is a good gamble, most of the stuff we order doesn't look as expensive as it really is.

For very small orders, ehobby is better. I absolutely hate browsing on their ebay store, but they offer the lowest shipping fees and their small packages never get stopped at customs.

The order was about $600. What kind of fees, duties, etc should we expect to pay?

It depends on the agent that day and what they classify your stuff as. I've heard guys get nailed $300 on an order that size, while others pay nothing but GST.

Ouch, that hurts! I would definitely consider lowering invoice amount next time then!

That's how 1 fellow ended up with a fine and a $400 bill on $300 worth of stuff. Never give the CBSA a false invoice to try to cheat them on fees. Their database is extensive, and you'd be surprised what they know on the value of things.

Also, how long does it take for the CBSA to send your bill?
