Question About Charging

So, I have this charger:

Link

And two 3800mAh NiMh 8.4v batteries.

I was told here once that that charger only charges up to 3000mAh, but I can't confirm that info anywhere. The manual basically states what the website says, and I can't find any more info through google.

The only thing that the manual says, is that above 2000mAh, I should use 1.8A, and that for a 3000mAh battery, the charge time should be 1.7 hours.

So, does anyone have this charger and charged things above 3000mAh, OR can any of you battery guru's give me some advice?

Thanks!

Set it to 1.8A and it should charge for around 3.8/1.8=2.1 hours. It's a "smart" charger, so it'll detect when the battery's getting "full" and shut off automatically. Always remember to monitor a charging battery, and shut it off if it gets hot.

mAh=capacity
more capacity to charge=more time needed.

if it's above the charger's maximum value, it'll just take more time.

battery heating up means some electricity is lost and transformed in heat.
charging up the battery at a rate that keeps it completely cold takes more time, but is chemically more efficient.

here is some more about charging efficiency:
