M1911 Silver Slide
Can anyone recommend a good silver slide for a Marui M1911? I've been looking at WGC and UNCompany, but all I can find are Hi Capa slides (not sure, but I doubt they can fit on an M1911) and slides for WA M1911 variants. The only option I've seen is to buy a frame and slide kit set.

And you cannot import a frame+slide kit....
Hi-Capa slide will fit, you just need a Tanio Koba Slide spacer, I think most retailers carries it, assume if they are in stock. If you get a SD slide you can also use their slide bushing to retain that 1911 look if you don't want to use the tapered barrel like Hi-Capa.... |

I'm looking for a slide like that. That was for a WA gun, though. How does this spacer work? |

GM1-54, Insert Slide Spacer, install and tighten GM1-54" SD makes Kimber slide for Hi-Capa, but its out of stock almost everywhere... As seen here: http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=9062 http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=9061 These are in stock though, but you'll need Hi-Capa's sight for it... BTW, This is PERFECT for you if you want to go the route of Hi-Capa slide on 1911:
KIMBER Silver slide, WITH SIGHT, IN STOCK: http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...oducts_id=5546 Don't forget to get this: http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6361 You need full length guide rod, which will require you to modify the hop-up mechanism a bit: http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3347 Along with the Tanio Koba slide spacer, you'll get a very sick 1911 build.... |

Or you could ask me to get you some mirror paint.
If you don't really plan on dumping a lot of money in, here is the result... This is the stock plastic slide of a Maruzen P99. Painted 5 layers of mirror paint on it. I will get some Krylon gloss coat to finish it tomorow. Edit: I scratched the paint this morning before applying the clear, so I re built the gun to see what it looks like: Last edited by Kos-Mos; April 8th, 2008 at 16:27.. |

Damn, forgot I had this topic up. Thanks for the help guys. GOing to go with a hicapa slide. Now I've got to find a new trigger. Do Hi Capa/1911/Para triggers all fit unless otherwise specified? I've been looking at those Sheriff .45 parts.

Hi-Capa/1911 triggers are the same, so anything made for either one will work for the other. Not sure about the Para....

Sheriff makes parts for the Marui Hi-Capa now? Please enlighten...

No specifically for a Hi Capa. They're for .45 guns, apparently. You can find them on UN or WGC.

They're for Western Arms .45s - which are mostly incompatible with the Marui Hi-Capa / 1911.

Are they? They mostly just say ".45". Didn't specify which ones.

They sold me some Sheriff parts saying they will fit a Marui Hi-Capa. When i got home, I tried them on and lo and behold... they wouldn't fit. I went back the next day and told them they screwed me, they pretty much said "well... you bought it, so now it's yours." Assholes. |

on WGC shop, if you go to their parts section and look under Sheriff, you'll find .45 parts. Sounds like you had a bad experience with DEN
