Pull back the charging handle and you should be able to slide the upper receiver onto the lower without a problem.

Its usually the back end, you have to raise it into place, like push up as your sliding forward. It's not a clearance problem so much as a tight fit.

From my experience with them, you may have to break out the dremel to make everything fit right with those DBOYS metal bodies. For the difference in price, G&P's the way to go.
For the gearbox, did you order a complete one just for those two broken parts??

I bought a C8 metal body from Huang (it's a Dboys body, like yours) as well as the metal hopup. I had no problems fitting any of my TM's parts into it, be it the hopup or the mechbox. JG is pretty much identical to TM, so there shouldn't be any problems installing them.
The only fit issue I had was that non of my low and mid-cap mags would fit into the magazine well. My TM and CA high caps fit, as well as my G&P Thermold mags. It was a bit tight, but they fit. I had to sand the inside of the mag well substantially in order to be able to fit these other magazines. No problems now though. The gun performs great and has no issues.

Bought a G&P Blackwater metal receiver, and yes it was a pain in the a$$..nothin lined up..The outer barrel notch in the reciever was to small-had to file it bigger..upper didn't fit with lower well, I had to push the 2 together while my brother installed rear pin..pretty much all pins had to be "presuaded" to fit..looks great but man what a chore.

mine is just one pin in the front so yeah its all good. i figured out it had somthiong to do with the hop up because it wont close when the hop up is in. fyi the hop up is a one peice and it is aattched to the inner barrell oh well i cant be a begger though i did get it for a steel so im happy just new i guess and a lil grummy that i broke it by ramming it a bit lol oh well.

I haven't read through the whole thread, just the first 6 or so posts, but this is what I found out a couple of days ago when I fitted one of the Dboys hopup....
With just the mechbox and hopup, see if the rear of the hopup fits into the opening of the mechbox where the nozzle comes out. On my build, the hopup body was about 0.5-1mm too large in diameter. I had to file it down, evenly around the whole circumference, until it fit. Do it evenly or your hopup will be off line a bit. Not having the hopup fit into the mechbox prevented the upper from sliding back far enough to allow the front pin to get in... Good luck! Tys |
