I need a GBB Gunsmith
I have a WA Wilson CQB Single Stack 1911. It does not fire properly. It discharges full mag of air at each trigger pull. I appreciate your offers of advice, Thanks Guys ahead of time, but, I just want somebody to fix it for me. I am in the GTA.

GBB guns DONT like the cold. Did you read about how to care for them in our Information section? That guide may help you figure out what is wrong. Right now it could be a lot of reasons, some of which are human error.
If you want better help, complete your user profile (the GTA is big). Then it's up to you to meet up with a local 'doctor'. There's a list of them too. |

I am completely mobile I can go anywhere. PLease show me the list of GBB doctors. There are 2 AEG doctors listed, but no gbb doctors. As I stated clearly before....I bring gun and money=you fix. Where I am is my business. Scarecrow will vouch for me. Lets not turn this into a flame fest....Simply provide me the name of a gbb doctor willing to fix the gun and I will be at the door. Its easy really, lets not complicate matters.

King, give CDN_Stalker a PM - I am not sure of it, but he might be coming down for Brian's convention over at TAC3 in January '08 so something might be arranged. Alternatively Testtube is stay at my place that weekend and he could take the GBBs back to CDN_Stalker if he does not come down in order to get them fixed. From what I can see good GBB docs are at a premium these days.
Scooby Steve, no need for the friction. The post is straightforward and to the point. King can travel to the location of the GBB doc, its not an issue. |

I won't be attending the convention, but I'll take a look at it if it can get to me through mail or Testie.
My thoughts on your problem are either temperature related or it's time for lube. If you can get the slide off, cock the hammer and release it under thumb restraint and watch for the firing pin that goes into the magwell (it releases the gas from the mag for the shot). This part often doesn't get enough lube (most just lube the slide rails and a couple other parts, IF they do any maintainance at all), so get some silicon oil, put a few drops in around the firing pin, the release, etc. and work the action a couple dozen times (without firing) to work the oil in. Hopefully that'd fix your problem (it's a VERY common problem, and 90% of the time my recommendations are what fixes it for the owner.) In cases like this I try to get the owner to do the basic maintainance and get it working for themselves. not that I discourage people form sending their guns to a tech to fix up, but often there is a simple solution that the owner can learn and apply. I try to get everyone to be able to work on their own guns, even to the point of successfully doing minumal upgrades. Guys like me are around to do what owners are nervous about doing, or to come in when there are some really odd troubleshooting issues to deal with. So, try my advice, if that doesn't work, send it my way, or elsewhere to someone near you. |

I've been working on WA 2011s, and 1911s for sometime now. I can probably give you a hand if stalker can't.
Cheers. |

You are right, where you live (exactly) does not matter. But if you look at most of our profiles, we narrow it down to a city and province (under our names) so that others local to us can contact us.
This is to make YOUR life easyer, and reduce the questions. Most 'doctors' can at least look at a GBB and figure out the basic problems. It may even be the way you fill the mag with gas, or the ambient temperature. All those little things you can fix yourself if you read what I suggested. So I apologize for trying to make your life simpler. |

King, since you are in the GTA, you might look towards kos first to see if he can sort it out for you. Othewise you'd have to mail it to me and I'd add it to my list of guns to work on (you'd be in the que, about four AEGs down the list), but should have it back within a few weeks.

If it fires the BB but slide doesn't cycle, then it sounds like your reed valve is blown.
