Tactical headset for lefthanded shooters ?
Hey guys,
I was looking at changing from my police mic/earbud setup on my KYD (Kenwood clone) radio and I seem unable to find a good tactical headset such as something with a boom mic that would fit for a lefty. I went as far as calling these guy : http://www.tacticalcommand.com/indexa.html But it seems like only the Liberator can be fitted for lefties, I was willing to go as far as paying the big bucks to get the Patrol Headset which is widely known as a Bowman even though it's not exactly the same thing. Anyway, do you guys have any good suggestions here ? Thanks in advance for the help.

You could always try a Peltor Comtac (not the II, which comes with a righty boom) and a throat mic. With a little experimentation the Peltor throat mic has proven durable and broadcasts fairly clearly (even with my fat neck).

I'm not sure about the replica Bowman headset, but the real deal can be modified to be reversible.

The Patrol Headset from TCI is acutally very close to the Bowman and I called them and been told that they cannot modify it. As far as the Bowman goes I know this one will take some work to fit on a regular K1 connector and then I guess I would have to figure out how to reverse the boom mic.

Thanks for clearing that up Morb. Haven't had the good fortune to try these out in person yet but I've tried the ear pro model (no coms) - definitely on my wish list.

Thanks Morb, if you stumble on something good let me know on here or by PM. I wasn't looking at something as big as the Comtac as far as actual size goes but if the feedback you guys give me on it seems good I'll look into it.
