Ultimate Airsoft Headgear?
I just purchased one of these, pricey but in my opinion it's offering the most protection and it just looks really cool!
http://www.eyetactical.com/products/products.aspx For info about where to buy; VForce EyeTactical Goggles CM210 at TacticalPaintball.ca Wow was checking out the site and found this! Goggles Test with 12GA Shotgun Answer to Syn's question: Yes whatever you see there is included! UPDATE: I just got it today, realized that the 210 wasn't a typo and it's an actual model ..it doesn't come with the neck-protector. I emailed VForce and they said they'd send me the neck protector FREE of charge! Other than that it's really nice, fits on my head perfectly and the helmet adaptor works really nicely ... currently wearing it with my CoolMax Balacava so it works great! Pictures! Please do a small review of how comfortable it is when you get it. Price looks good.
edit: Does the Non-Ballistic Neck Protector come with helmet too? edit2: oh and thanks for the updated link.

I think almost all of them fog. I was reading about crazy players spraying antiperspirant on their faces hoping to reduce fogging. I expect this mask to fog, only thing to do is try to install a tiny fan somewhere on it.

The padding inside the helmet is not removable and is glued to the helmet which will probably come apart because of the sweating you will be doing. It will definitely fog on you, especially with the neck guard. I tried it without the neck guard, and surprisingly it fits quite nicely considering I have a big fat head. However the only thing holding the mask to the helmet is the strap at the back. It also has a chin strap, not sure about the Darth Vador version. You are able to use the mask and helmet separately if you wish as well. Im not exactly sure how your going to mount a fan to this mask, except for maybe where the mouth protection is. They sell for $115 + tax IIRC at a paintball store located in Toronto. Store is called Ripple Paintball 416-636-0657.They are located in Downsview Park. I also believe they offer free shipping on purchases over $100

Definite fogging. I begin to worry when they sell an optional breathing system and they ADMIT it reduces fogging, ie: it fogs.

It looks like a single-layer polycarbonate lens. I'm a pretty firm believer in only using thermal (dual-layer) lenses.
Living up North everything I use (skidooing, paintball, airsoft) is thermal, and when I use single layers (motorcycling) you really notice the lack of anti-fog. I find using thermal lenses and using the diver's "spit" anti-fog method means I never really fog. Maybe they will sell a thermal lens for this? |

Oh yeah I forgot it is a single lens with an ati fog treatment, which will help but not much. This company has never made anything but a single lens for their mask's.
you could always look at getting one of these, or make your own. http://www.eyetactical.com/Products/c220.aspx Last edited by T_A_N_K; October 27th, 2007 at 14:04.. |
