Here's some shots of my Springfield Mil-Spec 1911. I'm still missing the Springfield wood grips but should have them soon.

There's 2 things I hate about standard 1911s. Mainly, fixed, non-dotted sights. Secondly, a short grip safety.
It's a great looking piece, very authentic. Just tactically outdated. |

It may be a little outdated (sights aren't the greatest) but the 1911 is definitely one of my favourites! Manvil, you have one incredibly sexy gun there. I also have the Guarder frame on order with the Colt trades, along with a pair dark stained wood Colt-style grips. Hope it looks as good as yours!
How's the accuracy with the 6.01 mm barrel? I can't believe that it could be more accurate than the TM stock - prob saves you some gas though.

I love it. Friend had the real thing loved but he sold it for a P226 Navy.

Explain.
You DO know that 1911's don't have a decocking mechanism, right? The standard grip safety, without "beaver tail" isn't very good for manual decocking. Whereas the newer grip safety w/ memory bump, and beaver tail is. Also, the lack of dotted, or even illuminated sights will cause some (understatement) disadvantage during night, or low light situations. I'm not shitting on anyone, or the gun. I'm just stating an opinion. |

The Mil-Spec SA actually has raised 3-dot sights, not the low-profile blades of the GI 1911. Guarder however, didn't take this into account when building their metal kits. PGC on the other hand has.

Don't be ridiculous. If he did that, he'd have to build another one and mail it to me.

not to mention hammer bite
with "old skewl" 1911's I also dislike the lack of the checkered frontstrap and yeah, the low pro manual safety is awkward to shoot isosceles for me I prefer to shoot weaver with those style of 1911's all in all its a damn nice looking gun; needs pics of the other side too =D I love the NB chamber and piston head as well |

I haven't experienced ham-bite, but I've been told it's annoying. Especially on RS 1911s. Checkering is nice if it's coarse. 20lpi is pretty sweet. Another thing that I mentioned before is the lack of memory bump... which, I think no 1911 should be without. |

lol
well, airsoft 1911 hammer bite is nonexistant its more of a love tap, if even for RS, Ive never experienced it myself, though I hear ppl who shoot it isosceles tend to get it more and yeah memory bump is nice more so for RS than AS though, IMHO with AS, the 1911 is so much more forgiving heh |
