Hi everybody.
I'm new here. I'm a total airsoft noob, and totally pumped on it.
Anyways, I'm likely be kicking around here quite a bit, trying to learn what I can and research differnent AEGs and whatever, because I'm a bit of a forum junkie in general. Cheers to all.

first things first... get age verified
2nd your already doing it...asking questions 3rd dont cheep out.... u get what u pay for get out and play^^ classic army makes good guns but so does other companies (tokyo marui.ect) the gun u get is your choice u have to like the way it feels and its looks every gun has its pratical application, like you wouldnt use a m60 to be a medic so get a gun that fits the roll u want to do..if u want to mainly do a single roll good luck

haha.... I've already changed the gun in my sig. I don't know anything about guns in general, so I'm just sort of basing my selection on battery capacity, magazine capacity, and size... (Not too short, not too long)
Really, that's why I'm here... to learn before I got drop 700 bucks on an AEG. I heard about a paintball spot not too far from me that supports Airsoft, so I may go and see if I can watch or join in with a rental.

Magazine capacity should never be considered on AEGs. There are almost always many different mags that can be bought, usually in these classes: Realistic (20-30 rounds usually) capacity, low capacity (50-90 usually), mid capacity (120-200 or so), high capacity (250-800), drum/box high capacity (upto several thousand).
Batteries should be considered, but not that much either. Large type batteries are generally available in more power. Don't worry about the listed voltage. Pretty much all AEGs are usually ran at 8.4, or 9.6 for a higher firerate, or upgraded internals. One can go higher then that though, if needed.

Cool man. I've already emailed the verification rep in my city, so hopefully that won't take too long.
I'm really, really pumped on this sport. I can't believe I never heard of it until now! *Punching myself in the head* j/k, but I am stoked on it.

lol well im going to be slightly blasfinous and say try some war games like BF2 or GRAW it lets you chose diferent guns for diferent "kits" (rolls)
eg. medics get a choice of L85A1 or G36C and special forces get MP5 or P90...(BF2) or just chosing what guns you want for your team.. G3 XM8 MP5 ECT...(graw)

I used to own the Offzer. Great gun, but shitty metal... Seriously. It made me trade it off, cause I was so worried about it..

It looks nice. I like the shape of it, and I assume it would feel pretty comfortable in hands.
Mind you, there are sooo many different guns out there that I could easily change my mind a thousand times over the next couple months. lol

Enjoy the read. Once you're done that, go up one level to the forum that thread is in (Frequently Asked Questions) and read the pile of useful threads in there. |

It's terrible if you're left handed, it has shitty metal, it's stock is kinda weird, it also has a V2 mechbox. This is definitely not the most fieldable gun.
OH, and a really annoying feature is.. The god damn fire-selector rubs against your knuckles (if left handed), and is way too hard to reach (if right handed). |

*EDIT - I'm seeing a lot about the MP5. It must be popular for a reason...
