bye bye CF tac vest, hello TAG chest rig

I recently acquired a TAG Rifleman chest rig for free, woo. Brother bought it from One Shot Tactical for his tour but he got wounded before it got to him, so a buddy of his used the chest rig an it finally got back to my brother recently so he gave it to me for my tour.

Big improvement over the tac vest. For the tac vest to even hold 10 mags semi decently I had take the old mag pouches off the webbing an zap tie it to the vest.

Hum... I really like. Has pretty much the same stuff as my chest rig right now, cept not modular and is desert. I was thinking of picking ether that one, or the gladiator chest rig, whats your take on it, worth the price?

Good piece of kit.

RE the Gladiator, it's in high demand right now and stock (from what I've been told) is very limited. The only problem you may have with it is the integrated hydration carrier - I'm not sure if it comes off, but you have have an issue with a ruck or 3-day pack.

Mike - Glad you got it for your tour. Please tell your brother to let me know if there is anything he needs, at all, and let me know if he is doing well!

Ace - We have the Gladiator in stock in ranger green but still waiting for our shipment of coyote. The hydration pack is not removable. It will feel weird with a pack on but because it comes with the Source bladder you don't have to worry about it leaking like the other bladders.

These are also smaller than most rigs so if your 6'-2" 220lbs it won't fit well with armour on.

LOL, I'm a small guy (5'10" and like 140lbs) it would fit fine I guess.

I'm not too sure about getting another MOLE set up, I really like being able to customize my rig before going out on an op, but after spending ruffly 500$ on a CADPAT TW rig (pouches and everything) and with the TAG chest rig offering pretty much the exact same set up as I have (minus a panel between the two shoulder straps for more pouches) and for half the price I paid for my TW one, it would make sense to get the Coyote version of the TAG rig.

Though mind you, I have not tried my current rig with the PSP armor carrier yet, so I will have to see before making a decision.

Other then that, I might just have to make the trek up to the Trenton area when I'm ready to buy and arrange a visit to One Shot to try on a few of the rigs before I make a decision.

That's the best if you can do it, and you have your armour, bring it up, try stuff on and then you'll get a better idea of what want.

I'm using my issue vest still. God how I hate it. Picked up a Phantom carrier for airsoft though.

I start work-up in September to deploy, so Farmboy be prepared for the mother of all orders around that time! lol
