Do you think customs would seize this?

Hey gals 'n pals.

So yeah, since I've been out of the loop for a while, I find that things have gotten even more strict with airsoft and the government (or whoever's responsible for hating our sport). I'm left now to wonder "Geeze, what's to say they won't take away a scope cover if I order one?".

Anyways, without going through too much of an off tangent, I was wondering if anyone would know if customs would seize something like this if I tried to order one in:

From what I understand, it's a conversion kit for the TM FAMAS, but with it's hefty price tag, I'm feeling pretty cautious about the whole thing.

Good luck finding one. The Seburo kits were a very limited run a couple of years back, and it's basically impossible to get one new, or even used.

To answer your question, though, no. If you did manage to locate something that rare, I would not take my chances with customs if I were you. That would be a hell of a thing to lose.

I'd say it would get seized.

I shipped three of those back to Canada, each were seized. I marked them as different items during each shipment
1: Plastic Toy
2: Toy replica
3: Cartoon Toy

None made it back, sorry

Damn...

And this is why airsoft forums exist kids :P That's a shame, I was curious about it but I guess early disappointment is a lot better than future disappointment. Heh well if they weren't so rare, I probably would have saved up and picked one up.

All said and done, they do like pretty cool though.

For what it's worth, it looks good but is shitty resin construction. You're better off making your own out of fiber-glass, at least it'll hold up if you drop it on the ground.

Custom can seize that, they can seize anything they want to, the question is if they can make it stick.

I'd say you'd have a good chance of successfully appealing a seizure. Assuming you have competent representation, anyways. CBSA seize airsoft on the ground that they are replica firearms, and past appeals at CITT were thrown out based on the items' in questions' resemblence to real firearms. Seburo doesn't even exist as a company, much less as real steel.

Probably isn't worth the gamble, though.

Yepper, Customs are (at present) nothing more than legalized pirates in my opinion. I had ordered a book from the USA called 'Louis Riel" by a gent named Chester Brown. It was seized at the border and not released until I called and spend about two hours worth of long distance telephone tag.

It was held as being suspicious in nature..

EXCUSE ME!? HOW IN THE FUCK IS A HISTORY BOOK ABOUT CANADA SUSPICIOUS?!?!?

Last time I vote Liberal.

Well Louis Riel was a "home grown Terrorist" at least in the eyes of the government at that time... can't be too careful.. you could have been subverted by Metis propaganda

Could have been subverted??? Hell, I'm a card carrying Métis myself! Louis Riel is (was) my great great great great great (X 5) Uncle, hence why I bought the book to begin with!

Fucking customs.
