KTW Springfield M1903A4 (sniper rifle)
Heyo, my name is max, and im new to airsoft, ive been playin woodsball for a while, ive spent lots of time and money into my tippy A5, and i still dislike it. then one day, i was talkin to a friend, and he told me bout airsoft, from the min i heard that the guns look and feel like the real ones, i was hooked. so here i am, with some questions about my dream airsoft rifle.
Ive always liked the springfield, and have been tryin to find it in an airsoft version and ive only found the KTW springfield. Ive found a bunch of pictures of it and i have seen it on various online airsoft stores, but they never list any info on it, other than it being like 1050$ :/. I mean there were lots of close ups in the pics, but noone seems to know anything about its performance. So if u guys know or find anything about this rifle like, fps, accuracy, range, basically anything to do with its performace, any info on the quality of KTWs would be greatly appreciated. max(SNIP3R) there is KTW's page with some good pics of this gun,(u have to scroll down to the very bottom, there is a big space in the middle for some reason :/ http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgur...icial%26sa%3DG those r my fav ones - http://heavyduty.boy.jp/ktw_img/000000150.jpg - http://heavyduty.boy.jp/ktw_img/000000027.jpg Last edited by SNIP3R; May 1st, 2007 at 01:12.. |

Leecas has set up a site for WW2 Airsoft in general. |

When you order those guns, KTW makes you sign a contract to mutter bible verses when you shoot someone, they even give you a little laminated list of especially harcore ones.

Built Material: Walnut wood & Metal Hop-Up: Adjustable Package: Gun, Magazine, Manual all of that sounds good, but it still doesnt say anything bout the fps , hop up , it would be great if i could find somone who has one |

I've seen them listed at 280-300 fps. There are no upgrade parts available to my knowledge, so as far as tightbores and upgraded springs go (it is spring powered - that's what "air cocking" means) you better have a machine shop or a fat wallet.
The mag is also a strange design - it's an internal hicap. I don't know about hopup. Keep in mind that KTW is first and foremost a producer of model and blank-firing guns. Airsoft is a minor additional market for them - it's not what they make most of their money from, and thus there's not a lot of aftermarket support for their airsoft guns. They're not really designed or marketed for skirmishes and games, but rather as highly-detailed display guns that just happen to let you knock down Coke cans across your living room.

you should go with the tm m1a1 because it is the only ww2 aeg that is out, and also make sure you order a gun that is already in Canada. http://aasurplus.ca/airsoft/product_...roducts_id=190
here are some reviews http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/revie.../cat/16/page/2

on http://www.ontarioairsoftwwiireenactors.com/
there is a forum. There is a 'how-to' on how to convert a Tokyo Marui M14 to an M1 Garand. Or you can send Leecas a private message on here and ask him personally. |

that sounds like a great, but just out of curiosity, is it illegal to buy airsoft guns from outside Canada? i mean, i have been hearing all sorts of stories about "realistic airsoft guns being illegal to import" but some of my friends got their airsoft guns from hong kong, japanise based companies , like WGC. hmm did the laws just change or somthin?

I do have on caveat, for most skirmishing a bolt action is not suitable and I really have to change my style of play when I use this sucker. LD

that sounds awsome dude, so i looked at airsoft garands, this custom Lee Enfield , and some others, but after looking at all the reviews, the tanaka k98 got the most good comments. i was a little put off by the scope at first, but after hearing lawdog's story and some other reviews, and the fact that it can reach 450-500 fps and even higher put a smile on my face, and i think it might be a little easier to acquire than some of those other guns, ya so thx for all the help guyz, im preddy sure im goin with the k89
As far as the beautiful M1903A4 goes, well, hopefully tanaka is workin on their own version right now now i just have to find a place in canada that has one, hmm, i live in vancouver,bc and i only know of 2 places that might have em, 007 airsoft in Alberta and Kelowna airsoft in, well Kelowna hmm, they dont seem to carry them atm, do u think its possible i can call em up and get them to order it for me? where did u get yours lawdog? I got mine from ASC Armoury when they were still importing guns. They unfortunately no longer import guns. A custom order through A&A might be possible.

You can also try buyairsoft.ca. And btw, the Thompson is not the only WWII weapon out there. There is more of a choice then people think. The problem is getting a vendor to bring it in for you. Good luck on your quest.

You can always go the conversion way if all else fails.
A clone of a TM vsr10 from buyairsoft and some Springfield accesories. Some people did it in the states: http://ww2aa.proboards45.com/index.c...5973048&page=2 Mind you, the quality isnt as great as the KTW but the price is much cheaper.
