The peter-pan boonie cap, or IIRC, a M1 Steel pot helemet (Kevlar if your going for a deployment look, I think), the old OD Flak vest, and possibly the old OD issue TV if your looking at a yugo deployment kit...

From about 1985 onward use 82 pattern webbing as shown here:
http://www.canadiansoldiers.com/medi..._Web_Equipment Before that there was the 64 pattern webbing, much different. CF green sweater, wool, Mk II Combat boots. For 1980s gear you have to make sure that you have the old style combat trousers with the taped buttons directly on the belt loops rather than the 90's style with wider belt loops and the buttons sewn on. Oh, you will be needing a FAL C1 or C2.

Don't forget that there weren't any of these Goretex boots and whatnot, MkIII's were the thing...maybe with some Vibram soles but not much else.

Yup... for the LCF (look cool factor) you need your JB's (from having done Cyprus or Golan), rifle green wooly pully, OD shirt and pants, 3 season jacket, Elmer Fudd hunting cap (with sleeping bag cord and "cats eyes"), mk2 or 3 boots for the nastier weather, 64 or 82 pattern web gear maybe even a C2 bra (64 was floating around till about 86) , SSF jump smock for extra LCF and last but not least FN C1/C2 or SMG for weapons...
P.S. you could even throw on a 64 pattern ruck. |

Mmmm how could anyone forget the Quarpel cap? Cut out that sodding ear flap, sew in cats eyes (just cut the back two inches of a helmet band) and fold in a ridge around the top!
And of course for a good CScots impression you'll need a British P84 Smock

If you want I can get a few pictures of my buddies uniform from when he was with the CScots back in the day...I think he's still got his old smock, unless he got rid of it when I sold him a new one...

Any recommendations where can I buy some 82 Pattern kit for CF infantry aprox 1985? What fragmentation vest did they use that time under the web gear 82 Pattern? Are there any photos of soldiers of that period wearing helmet and frag. vest? Is there difference in M1 helmets used by US Army and CF? Was it the same way and view as the US Army used? Same cover in woodland?

An absolutely great place to look for '82 Pattern webbing (CF issue during the 80's and 90's until the "operational" '95 Pattern LBV came into service) is at H.M. Surplus. As for the frag vest, I believe the Vietnam-era US style vest would be sufficient, they appear quite similar. Same with the US M1 steel piss-pot helmet.

Yep the Vietnam style soft armour flak vest would do it, and the helmet was the same as the US steel one of the same time period.
The cover was a two season deal, green camo for spring/summer and brown for fall/winter (or just a white sheet chopped up).
