Mrs. Lawdog in Final Four and Airsoft Sponsorships
Thanks to your votes, my wife's manuscript has made it into the final four of the American Title III Contest. Voting is open again for the next round, and all you have to do is send an e-mail with One Shot, Two Kills in the subject line to webmaster@romantictimes.com
It seems that she has even brought all the judges around to her work, garnering all positive comments in this round: http://www.romantictimes.com/news_amtitle3.php We need every vote we can in this round, and in fact I cannot think of a single reason why you would not spread the word to everyone in your addressbook. The really good news is that this means Kim made the top half of the contest and my law firm will be kicking in two sponsorships to support airsoft this year. I am hoping to use one to assist in a "national" event, but if the organizers of the events I have approached do not finalize something with me by Feb. 1, I will be releasing both sponsorships to Ontario teams. I will post a call for proposals on Feb 1, with the details about how your team can submit for one of these sponsorships. But the fun just never ends when a KJ Howe contest is going. For those who vote for KJ this round there will be a "Kill Me Off" draw run to get yourself made into a character who gets offed in her next book. Details should be posted later today. As always feel free to visit her website at www.kjhowe.com Many thanks, LD

The "Kill Me Off" Contest
I probably should have mentioned this in the first announcement but the details were not finalized yet.
If you vote for my wife in her ongoing writing contest by sending an e-mail with ONE SHOT, TWO KILLS in the subject line to webmaster@romantictimes.com and cc the entry to me at russ.howe@bolandhowe.on.ca or confirm your entry with an e-mail to Kim through her website at http://www.kjhowe.com/contact_kj.php you will be entered in the "Kill Me Off" contest. If you are the "lucky" winner Kim will base a character on you in her next novel who will be killed off in some cool, possibly even heroic fashion. For legal reasons we must use you, and not your boss, mother-in-law, insurance adjuster etc. If you are shy or do not wish to die alone, I could probably talk her into basing some organization around your team name, and wiping the lot of you out in a blaze of glory. Fiction is flexible you know. Sorry about the second post. I will automatically enter everyone who has already confirmed they voted in the earlier thread. Thanks LD

Nice excerpt. I think while the other authors fare seems quite typical, the scenario developing in Kims story is probably a break from the norm for the judges, she clearly has the best 'shot' by the their reactions anyways. Good luck.
