How To : Cheap AK sling
I dont know if I'm the first to try this or not, or care.. but here it is.
This may be a little rediculous to post but I thought I'd share my little hack with the community. I needed an AK sling and all of the for sale threads were pretty much tapped clean. I like the canvas OD look. So I took one of my cheapo (I think) Canadian M16 slings (I paid 5 dollars for) and clipped off the front portion (a - the ring and clip) with some metal shears (leaving the canvas loop in tact) and threaded an old 3pt ring through it. I connected it to the front of the AK threaded the rear section through the sling loop and you're in business. You may want to tape up the rear clasp, if you dont want your body getting scratched. If you do, by all means leave it bare. Not much, but if you dont feel like spending coin on a Mauri replica or cant find one this is an option. It looks pretty slick and is canvas.
