CPgear Supposed new ventures

I was talking to the owner of CPgear, also known as wheelers. He is taking over and is expanding the store. He used to be USMC, and says he wanted to put Wheelers in a new "tactical gear" direction. Theyve always sold cadpat custom gear to the armed forces, especially to the nearby Gagetown, but he says he wants to really open up the spectrum. So he will now produce his own custom plate carrier systems, as well as top grade gear (modular, sub loads, pouches) as well as carrying surefires, maxpedition, ESS, and other gear. Also they are now carrying tan, ACU, Arid Cadpat, Black as well as the classic Cadpat and OD.
Its right down the road from me, and has always been an awesome gear supplier. So if you have any advice as a gear user, contact CPgear or better yet, support the store!

Yup I got alot of stuff from CP gear and never had any complaints about them. Hell even their thigh holster fits my MK23 really well. That and I am a CADPAT whore so need more CADPAT.

he is amazingly framiliar with todays modern plate carriers such as the Ciras, RAV, FAPC and other plate carriers. He knows how to do it, and ill happily pick up what he has. went there today and bought 100 bucks worth of stuff i didn't plan on getting like a modular ladder back sling, neoprolene all weather gloves, grimlocks, a hydration hose shield, socks, hat, and a "support our soldiers sticker" gotta have one of those. Also, they're renowned for there invincible book bags with a 10 year warranty. they can also make anything you can throw at them.

I know that in the past year they've kinda wavered away from quality military kit and gone and aimed themselves more toward Paintball and hikers. But they recently hired alot of new staff to design good soldier-oriented products.

Ill let him know. Again once the blueprints are done, the wheeler team can make it from any of there material. thats the way ive found it to be. again, im not speaking on behalf of wheelers, just from what he told me. A cadpat ciras would be nuts...

im actually pretty interested in what he had for his plate carrier idea...

he's got quite a few evil tricks lined up. and I can't really complain. it would be nice if they do. trying to convince him right now to let me play around with prototypes, not getting lucky so far.
just need him to make me a c9 vest and I'll be good to go.

My CIRAS with CP Gear pouches and hydro carrier on it. The only other thing that would be nice is if the shoulder pads were Cadpat.

if only eagle made a cadpat maratime ciras. I'd buy one in a heart beat. can't wait for the raid to come out in feb! those pouches from CP are so going to be tested by me (to the extreme if they let me jump it, which I doubt my JM's will *sigh*)

Just came onto this thread. Darren @ One Shot is correct. I am not the owner of Wheelers - CP Gear, but was hired on by the owner to head up the Military Product Development side of the house.

The Lobster Trap Dump Pouch was my creation, as was getting in the driFIRE clothing.

We've got a bunch of additional stuff coming in the next 2 weeks. Some stuff to hit the website (it's already in the store) is a modular Browning Hi-Power Holster, 9mmulti Pouch, and the Running Man Leg Rig.

As for a Cadpat CIRAS. Probably not going to happen for some time, as doing a direct copy of the Eagle CIRAS is a no-go from patent infringement standpoints. A plate carrier will be something that I'm hoping to start work on in the April-May timeframe. With that said, it'll depend on interest, as deviating from the standard CF ballistic armour is a no-go for most CF members and as such, there's not a huge market opportunity there.
Now, on the other hand, if there's sufficient interest from the mil-sim community, anything's possible, but you've got to realize that we produce our stuff in Canada and as such cannot compete with overseas knock-off prices.

Good to hear, Matt. Some of us aren't believers in the "K-Mart" philiosophy (ie: the lowest price is not always the law). I personally will pay more for top-quality product and customer service.
