Proud tactical glow sights G19

Well I just received these and they seem to be pretty nice. I opted for the metal ones, and the front sight comes with a little screw that you can screw from the bottom of the slide so that you dont lose the sight. So i went to place these on my KSC metal G19 and by goly the rear sight wouldnt slide right on. I checked the little paper and it said for KSC g19 no mod required bla bla. SO im like alright well ill just push a little harder....nothing. I was like man wtf lol so i tryed kinda hammering it into place with a rubber head hammer and near the middle it wouldnt budge...so i got the regular hammer, put the damn slide on its side and hammered that sight into place..finally got in but i chipped away some paint off the sight so Its getting a coat of krylon black right now. I will post pics as soon as its dry. So just a heads up!

edit/ i forgot to mention that i sanded down the bottom of the rear sight and the sight place(where it goes) down to the bare metal to get this hammered inside

Crappy paintjob though. lol Well it looks good, and it glows pretty nice.Just alot of effort into getting that sight into place. G19 rocks! Also planning to get a 226 in the future.

Me want!

How does it glow? Tritium or glow in the dark paint?

Its not paint, its like a glow in the dark plastic or absorbant, kind of like the stuff in a watch? if you come to AC on the 27th u can check it out

I just put a set of plastic ones on my 18c. They're not tritium, just glow in the dark.

If you charge them with a light they are very bright, very easy to see in the dark. I have yet to test them in a game but when I do I'll post my impressions.

Cool. I can see that being handy at AC. That place is so crappy and dark.
I will swing by to take pics if I have some time.

I've found that rear sight installation is made a LOT easier by placing both the rear sight and the slide in to a freezer for about 20-30 minutes. The colder the temperature, the better (in the winter, I just use my balcony). It causes both parts to shrink and the sight will slide right in. Once back to room temperature, the fit will be nice and tight.

That's strange, because when I installed my plastic Proud Luminous sights a month or so ago, it was way too loose and would just slide off. I had to krazy glue it on.

I had to glue the front sight down, and managed to glue it a little crooked. Damn.

The rear sight is pretty solid though.
