I am buying a mount and need help

I am buying a claw mount for a G3 Sg1 and found one but am wondering if this is what I would want or will something not fit correctly? Thanks
Here is the link: http://www.canadianairsoft.ca/ViewItem.php?ItemID=56
Would this also work on an MP5 just for an easier resale. Thanks again

It'll work on both guns, though it's pretty pricey. If you don't need the side rails I'd recommend this one instead: http://cgi.ebay.com/ACTION-G3-MP5-Me...QQcmdZViewItem

this is, what I believe is the standard HK mount that will work well for a G3 and MP5.

I highly recommend the low profile mounts myself. I had a claw mount for a bit, never sat on my MP5 very tightly, and was too high. I have LP mounts on both my MP5s, they are the shit, fit very tight and are a joy to shoot with a proper cheek weld. If the mount is too high (add in any scope rings you might put on), you will have to shoot from a "jaw weld" which, for me, is pretty annoying.

So will I have troubles with a low profile if I have a paint ball mask that sticks out a fair bit and I have a cheek rest I like to keep on the stock of the gun? Or will I be fine. Also have you ever had issues with a claw mount with holding onto the gun properly? Thanks

If using a paintball mask, then you'll need some relatively high mounts. Paintball masks are freaking annoying and never work well with real style guns unless you cut a chunk off the cheek you shoot with. I tried that, even found that just wearing paintball goggles w/o mask and medium height scope rings on my M24, the goggles would get shoved up and to the left, creating large gaps around the goggles. To fix that problem I put high mounts on and went with Bolle T800s.

I guess it all depends on what scope you use and how you set it all up. Obviously I'd say get rid of the mask, as it's the easiest way to enjoy the sport, but you wear it for a reason so you'll have to work your way around that. Anything you have on the stock will amplify the problem of cheekweld, pushing your face/eye farther away from the scope/sight.

I had problems with the TM clawmount I had, was slightly used and wouldn't ever tighten down enough on my stock plastic body, so I got rid of it after using it a few games. Apparently new it comes with rubber pads or something and others have had good success with it, but to me it just doesn't look good on an MP5. G3 it looks fine. Just a size/proportion thing is all for me.

Ok anyone have anything negative to say or is it all fairly positive with explainable circumstances? That sounds a bit abrupt but only way I can think to put it and ya i would try to tell what scope but I getting a new one hopefully for x-mas because all i got is a cheap 20 dollar one and it is not very easy to use. Thanks

I'll say this, you will find more problems with a ful paintball mask and trying to use a scope with any magnification higher than 2x. Mainly because with magnified scope, there is a required scope relief between your eye and the eyepiece, generally there is a rough inch or two leeway (again depending on the zoom........... my 3x requires my eye be within +/- 1" or so of the ideal eye relief, which is, I don't know, maybe 4 " behind the scope. I have a 2.5x scope that allows me a good picture +/- 2", it's much more flexible to use.

If you get, say a 4x, you'll have to decide whether to give up the scope or give up the mask, as I can see problems happening with getting a fast scope picture with that set up. If you have a choice of scopes, get a 1x red dot sight, it'll be the easiest to use with a full mask on, and fast target acquisition. And if you decide to go with an RDS, get one with a decent sized tube (30mm and up) for best results with your mask. Some Bushnell RDS scopes have a 1" tube and it makes getting your head in position, target in the tube and dot on target a bit slower to do fast and well.
