Reel Steel Free floats

yoyo! just wondering if any knows/ has any expirence in installing
reel steel free floats.

I would be installing in on a TM M4 with metal body.

Ive heard of a few people doing it with some modifications, but id like to see if
anyone can give some techincal advice or some instruction on how to do it.
i dont want to spend money if its going to be a waste. if other parts are needed id like to know that as well.

Heres the link to the float im looking at:

its made by YHM

would somthing like be required to make this work? or would the stock
Tm locking nuts work?

any help or info would be appreciated. thanks!

Free Floats all have their own proprietary barrel nut, so no worries about buying an extra piece. What you might need is an armorer's wrench, and a dremel or any tool that can sand. For the particular modifications needed, it all depends on the brand of your metal body... Can't help you further without knowing

Well, Hurricane metal bodies are a bit larger, so i don't know about their particular threading, but you would mot likely need to sand of the threading of the receiver (where the Delta ring usually goes) in order to be able to get the barrel nut completely in. You might also need barrel spacers, such as those included in most G&P RAS, or a custom spacer ring, in order to make the barrel nut press firmly against the barrel. (a 1-piece barrel is a must in my opinion, never tried it with a stock barrel)

The most solid feeling I had on an airsoft rifle. That's all I can say hehe. Free Floats are really the best thing out there.

I have played around with a few, and the absolute easiest is the ARMS line, I have a #50M it attaches right to the rop rail of the weapon, so its simple beyond words, as simple as attaching a red dot.
you do need a 1 piece barrel though.
Great room to store your batteries too
