TM P90 VS. TM/CA Steyr AUG CIV.
Um... first off I'd like to ask: please don't yell at me for being such a noob at airsoft, I all ready know...
I've been thinking of getting either a TM p90 or a Steyr AUG A1 because, one, I love both of them and, two from what I can tell, they are both pretty well-built weapons and I really can't decide. So, I'd like a pro opinion! Also please don't flame about how ugly either one is, 'cus I am aware of that! Thanks! |

P90 for CQB, AUG for field use.
You already know about the mag sizes and how they each require different rigs to carry them. Besides that they are mostly the same in terms of build quality. Right now it comes down to size. The aug is big and the P90 is small. Take your pick on that,. |

P90 vs AUG
Hi ... As a P90 owner myself there is one issue I want to point out while you think about this subject. It's difficult to get vests or pouches to fit P90 mags. I have a thigh P90 dual pouch and that's all I have found so far. I don't know of any vests that can hold P90 mags (most are oriented toward M16/M4's). Therefore if you need to carry lots of P90 mags you will need to consider this limitation.
I don't know if this limitation applies to the AUG mags too so do some research first before you make your choice. |

Just a note, cutting down an AUG to commando/para size makes it only 10cm longer than a P90. I've found AUG mags to fit perfectly in pouches designed for armalites (that would be pretty much all pouches in existence ).

I just traded my P90 away, pros and cons in no specific order:
-barrel is too short and has really poop accuracy, adding a silencer to cover an extended barrel defeats the purpose of the short gun -only fits mini's or custom J-batteries with modification -incredibly efficient hopup design, lose less fps -strongest mechbox there is as far as I know -not only are mag pouches difficult to find (TT makes some molle ones) but because of the size they limit your mobility, you cant bend over as much if they are vertical on your torso (and I'm, 6'2" and it still effected me) -very comfortable to hold/natural to aim in my opinion (aimpoint on a P90TR) -mags are harder to find and a lot more expensive than most others -its really damn sexy (most people think their butt ugly, its all personal opinion) |

I love the p90 and its my primary.
Pros: Small Well designed gearbox, takes version 2 and 3 parts. With a silencer on its deadly quiet Easy to aim even without a sight on Has the same inner barrel size as a g36c Uncommon on most fields. Cons: Mags- hard to find lowcaps and hard to carry, also highcaps have a tendency to suck On the RDS version the RDS is super small Some find the grips to be to close together Batteries Some people really hate the look I have a TR version have had good luck in find mags and at good prices (high and low). My highcap has worked perfectly after it was lubed, and I have custom mag pouches that hold 4 p90 mags in each. Im buying a second right away. Im 5'10" so I dont find the grips that close. Also I have a 9.6V 1100mah NiMH battery that Ive been able to play 2 games with then recharge that fits in the gun perfectly with only a minute of modification to the buttplate. I have a M4 tightbore in the silencer that came with my TR and it only shoots slightly louder than with a p90/g36c barrel. That said I really dont know alot on the AUG. |
