Miracle airsoft gun lube?

Hey guys,
I was just browsing google and came across this link.

It's advertised as a silicone lubricant and will increase your fps by 50-100.
That sounds pretty ridiculous, except it received such good testimonials.

Do you guys know what this stuff is? I'm pretty sure it's nothing special, just some common silicon oil that you can pick up at a hardware store.

I'd think it's for the springers...

There are reports that those cheap ass ChinaAir guns can be improved alot (and other brands, etc) with a simple addition of oil.

The lube can also increase your guns muzzle velocity by 50-80 fps (varies per model).

Do you know what weight silicon oil it might be though?
I have the really-light weight silicon oil that comes with the propane adapter, is that enough for lubing my barrel?

All of those testimonials sound too much like something off an infomercial hosted by some dude with a really bad sweater.
I'd hazard a guess that the 100% silicone lube from A.I. or others works just as well.

What I wonder about is what they use for the propellant.

If you wonder why I think about it, read up on what tends to be in aerosol cans and what that stuff will do to an airsoft gun.

Silicone oil is available pretty much anywhere in Canada, and even Home Hardware has parts that can fit airsoft guns (piston rings are no different than plumbing gaskets)

So you dont need to bother with that stuff.

If it's for springers, silicon oil will increase fps if applied to the pistonhead (generally gun cocked, upside down with mag out........ oil improved my fps by sealing better, but wasn't anything outrageous, maybe 20-30fps max. Was proven to me on my TM G17 springer and Crosman P99 springer).

Only way fps will increase with oil in an AEG is to reduce the amount of friction the hop up rubber inside the barrel has. But if anything, maybe 10-20fps at the most. Adding oil to a neglected gun that is shooting way below standard, ok, I can see a large increase. Doing it to a moderately maintained gun............ bullshit.

Beware with the lube tho, people think its good to lube their guns like everytime they shoot it but becareful, if you over lube your hop-up your hop-up will swell up and cause a bb roll out problem.

I'm not sure if it will happen to AEG's but it happened to my gbb , so I am trying to layoff on the lube. I basicly run my mag dry without lube in the propane because I add drips of oil in the openings of the sealents in the mags.

Spray lube is expensive, just get the regular bottles of RC Car Silicon Oil. It should be called Shock Oil or Pure Silicon Oil. It comes it a small bottle bigger than the ones that you buy with your propane adapter. It comes in several different weights from 5 to 100 if im not mistaken.
Mainly you would want the 5 or 10 weight silicon oil. That small bottle can last you a while.

You can get them in toronto at AdvanceHobbies or AJ Hobbies.

It runs for 10$ canadian max usually and the bottle is quite big compaired the bottle what is offered in that website link.

Is AGS Lith-Ease safe for airsoft guns (for use in the gearbox, not barrel/hopup)? All the guides I've read say to use white lithium grease or really heavy silicone oil in the gearbox (or Dupont Krytox from the one I trust most). This is white lithium grease from canadian tire. The packaging is very non-descript, so I'm a little uneasy about using it.

Just to clarify: That 10wt. silicon oil that came with the propane adapter, I can use that for lubing the mechanical parts of a gbb too right? (ie. slide and frame). Or is a heavier weight prefered?

Ive looked around but didn't find this lithium grease on canadian tire's website. Good information though, apperantly quality lube is closer than you think!

It's weird, 10 years ago I could find the 100% white lithium grease at CT any time I looked, now I had to go to 6 or 7 different stores.

Back onto topic any true silicone oil, without petroleum additives should be safe to use on any airsoft gun.
As Greylocks said you'd be surprised the the things you can find, and use at your local hardware store, just use your imagination and a little initiative.
