selector plate spring
i was doing some repairs on my m4 and lost the little spring that sits at the top of the selector plate, it is about 1 cm long and pushes on a metal part that engages semi or full auto. i was wondering if anyone out there possibly a gun doctor has a extra one kicking around i could get rather than ordering from overseas. thanks

Pretty simple actually, buy a cheapo lighter, like a Bic and remove the striker wheel carefully, catch the spring that presses the flint into the striker wheel, and cut it to about half an inch in length. I've done this numerous times on guns that sent them flying.
Funny, my first reply was in regards to your missing tappet plate spring, I replied about that (I bought a couple from Illusion) then after subitting the post, saw the title is tappet plate spring, but the body of your post is selector plate spring. So, I just answered both for ya. Last edited by CDN_Stalker; October 9th, 2006 at 13:19.. |
